CHANGES IN THE TOP-10
The most significant changes come at the top as Benny Williams Benny Williams 6'8" | SF St. Andrew's | 2021 #35 Nation FL and Jordan Hawkins Jordan Hawkins 6'5" | SF DeMatha | 2021 State #41 Nation MD take over the #1 and #2 overall spots respectively. Hawkins, who was previously ranked outside of the top-10, was a key contributor for the Stags on both ends of the floor and still offers plenty of upside. Bullis guard Erik Reynolds Erik Reynolds 6'2" | CG Bullis | 2021 State #197 Nation MD vaults to #5 after an impressive junior season and National Christian Center Jonathan Izemef Jonathan Izemef 6'9" | C National Christian | 2021 State MD rounds out the updated top-10.
FIVE STOCK RISERS
#16 | DAY’SJUAN WATERS | 6’4 SG | GOOD COUNSEL | PREVIOUS RANK: 45
Waters had a really good year for a much improved Good Counsel team. Not many guys scored 30+ points in multiple WCAC games this year. Waters did.
#17 | NICK MARSHALL | 6’4” SG | RIVER HILL | PREVIOUS RANK: 28
Marshall rebounded nicely from a knee injury that cost him a good portion of his junior campaign. Expect him to break out sooner rather than later.
#24 | BARRY EVANS | 6’5” SF | OAKLAND MILLS | PREVIOUS RANK: 56
Evans is one of the best-kept secrets in the state of Maryland. It’s only a matter of time before his recruitment begins to reflect that.
#40 | BOBBY HILL | 6’6” PF | RESERVOIR | PREVIOUS RANK: 59
Hill thrived in a leadership role this year which helped accelerate his development. D1’s are beginning to take notice and rightfully so.
#42 | MIASIAH BROWN | 6’2” CG | WOODROW WILSON | PREVIOUS RANK: 54
Brown made a huge impact in his first year at Wilson. This comes as no surprise given the resume he built at Chavez.
DIVISION ONE SLEEPERS
#9 | JALEN MILLER | 6’2” PG | BISHOP WALSH
Not many guards in this area are more battle-tested than Miller. He is still criminally under-recruited, but that should change soon.
#10 | JONATHAN IZEMEF | 6’9” C | NATIONAL CHRISTIAN
If you’re looking for a big in the local 2021 class, Izemef is one of the better options available. The traditional big man enjoyed a productive year and is still improving.
#11 | RYAN CORNISH | 6’3” CG | SIDWELL FRIENDS
Cornish is not only one of the top shooters in the area, but he’s also able to play and defend both guard spots. He will only keep getting better as he grows into his body.
#15 | TJ GADSDEN | 6’6” PF/SF | ST. ANDREW’S
Gadsden is the ultimate utility knife. There isn’t a thing he doesn’t do well on the court. Gadsden’s potential is great, and he’s starting to realize that.
#18 | JALEN BRYANT | 5’11” PG | JOHN CARROLL
All Bryant does is win games. If he needs to score 30 to win, that’s what he’ll do. But often, Bryant is focused on making the right play and that’s one of the things that makes him unique.
