With over 30 new players, we have broken them down into three parts for your viewing pleasure. Take a look and be on the look out for more rankings breakdowns as well.
#49 Jack Jensen Jack Jensen 6'8" | C Paul VI | 2021 State VA | 6’8” C | Paul VI
Jensen was a surprise guy at PVI who worked his way from bench warmer to starter increasing his minutes throughout the year. He’s the perfect look for a high academic or a service academy with his size and mobility, and he’s just scratching the surface with how good he can be. He’s a high motor, scrappy guy who doesn’t need plays called for him and makes an impact on both ends.
#51 Kuron Coleman Kuron Coleman 6'4" | SG Woodside | 2021 State VA | 6’4” WG | Woodside
Coleman is a guy who may need another year whether it’s a reclass or a post grad to increase his recruitment but he’s a guy who could possibly sneak up and be a division one guy in this class as well. He’s a long forward who can flat out stroke it from deep with great consistency and range, and if he continues to fill out he could be a potential “3 and d” guy at the next level.
#57 Jayson Harris Jayson Harris 6'6" | PF Menchville | 2021 State VA | 6’6” PF | Menchville
Harris didn’t get all of the attention that the backcourt of Menchville got (and earned) this year, but he was a key part of their team with his physicality and presence in the paint all season. He’s a bull in the paint as a guy who can score with his back to the basket and rebounds well despite being a little undersized, but he’s also mobile and has soft touch out to the elbow as well.
#59 Devawn White Devawn White 6'4" | SF Carmel School | 2021 State VA | 6’4” WF | Carmel School
White was one of a number of transfers this year to Carmel School and was a big help in their run the VISAA D3 semifinals. He has good positional size at 6’4”, he’s a good athlete that plays with a high motor and he’s able to put it on the deck and get to spots with the ball in his hands as well.
#63 Cam Edmonds Cam Edmonds 6'2" | CG Western Branch | 2021 State VA | 6’2” CG | Western Branch
Edmonds was a leader on a very young but talented Western Branch team that qualified for the state tournament and should be a favorite next year if everyone returns. The combo guard fits perfectly in their system where they play fast, press and have multiple shot makers and ball handlers on the floor. He’s a guy that sets the tone, can score at multiple levels and brings toughness as well.
#64 Reed Pendleton Reed Pendleton 6'1" | SG Moravian Prep | 2021 State VA | 6’2” WG | Cave Spring
Pendleton had a breakout year as one of the top scorers in the Roanoke area and was a big reason Cave Spring won the Class 3 state championship. The 6’2” guard has a rocket from deep and has perfect form and great range to show it, but he also is a guy who understands the game and has a knack for making plays on both ends.
#76 Kaleb Bingham Kaleb Bingham 6'4" | SF James River | 2021 State VA | 6’4” WF | James River
Bingham is a guy who showed promise as a young prospect at Monacan and showed that he’s starting to put it together at James River this year. The 6’4” wing has good positional size and has a budding skill set offensively that makes him tough to guard. He can shoot it from deep or attack and finish and he’s good on the glass as well.
#77 Tyler Coleman Tyler Coleman 6'6" | PF Paul VI | 2021 State VA | 6’6” PF | Paul VI
Coleman was one of a group of players who rotated at the post positions for PVI this year in their state championship season and was consistent enough to be named Honorable Mention All WCAC. He’s the perfect big for PVI despite being a little undersized as he’s athletic, plays fast and plays with a high motor. He’s a guy who can guard multiple positions and doesn’t need many plays ran for him.
#83 Josh Morse Josh Morse 6'6" | PF Albemarle | 2021 State VA | 6’6” PF | Albemarle
Albemarle is always a team who seems to reload when everyone thinks they’ll be rebuilding and has a next man up type of mentality. This year that man was Morse who helped them qualify for yet another state tournament. He’s a walking mismatch at 6’6” as he’s a guy who can score inside in a number of ways, step out to the three-point line and make shots and he can even put it on the deck a little bit.
#86 Garrett Cox Garrett Cox 6'6" | SG Glen Allen | 2021 State VA | 6’5” WF | Glen Allen
A very skilled wing with good size, Cox is a gem in the Richmond area with his shot making ability from all over the floor. At 6’5” he has great size as a shooter and is consistent from deep, he can put it on the deck and is surprisingly shifty and he has a high IQ as well. He’s a guy who could climb the rankings with a good summer when things get back going.
#89 Caleb Furr Caleb Furr 6'6" | PF Highland School | 2021 State VA | 6’6” PF | Highland School
Furr transferred from Bishop Walsh in Maryland midseason and immediately added a big component to an already talented Highland team that made it to the state semifinals before losing to Norfolk Collegiate. He’s a skilled hybrid forward that can play inside-out, he can use his size to make tough shots and rebound and he’s a guy who can create mismatches as well.
