Christian Shumate Christian Shumate 6'5" | PF Bloom | 2020 State #376 Nation IL (Bloom)
Shumate is an uber bouncy four man that had a fantastic senior season after transferring to Bloom. The athletic 6’5” forward plays way above the rim with his elite motor. Flies in from out of nowhere for offensive rebound put backs and dunks. Blocks shots with the best of them. Big time transition player. Has improved his handle over the years being able to put it on the deck from the perimeter. Jumper has gotten much more consistent particularly from mid-range.
Kennedy Brown Kennedy Brown 6'8" | PF Bogan | 2020 State IL (Bogan)
This is one of the more interesting prospects in Illinois. He put his name on the radar as a backup during his junior year and then closed his summer out with a monster showing at the UIC team camp. Moved to Core 4 Prep in Georgia before coming back playing his last few games at Bogan. The 6’8” post reclassified to the 2021 class before leaving and as of now that is still the plan going to a different prep school next season. Brown is a mobile four man that is a rim runner in transition, can rebound in his area, and has potential defensively. The area that made the biggest impression from an improvement standpoint is his shooting.
Dominic Martinelli Dominic Martinelli 6'5" | PF Glenbrook South | 2020 State IL (Glenbrook South)
Martinelli is a unique player for sure. The 6’5” power forward was one of the most productive players in the state of Illinois this past season. The combo forward is a lefty with crafty game. Not overly athletic, but just knows how to get it done with his slo-mo drives and difficult shot making maneuvering his body and the basketball for scores. Holds multiple D2 offers.
Kee Hargrow Kee Hargrow 6'6" | PF Joliet Central | 2020 State IL (Joliet Central)
Hargrow is a broad shouldered and athletic four man that is one of the more coveted JUCO prospects in the state. Hargrow is a broad shouldered, strong, and athletic four man. He is still raw skill wise, but is so intriguing with his athleticism and playing above the rim. Defensive presence with versatility to guard multiple positions.
Damontae Taylor Damontae Taylor 6'7" | PF Zion Benton | 2020 State IL (Zion Benton)
Taylor has a ton of upside. The 6’6” four man is a lanky left handed prospect that can play and defend multiple spots. Even played some at the point this year for ZB. High level athlete who plays above the rim in transition. Flies in out of nowhere to block shots. Range on his shot out to beyond the three point arc although it is streaky from there.
Kendale Anderson Kendale Anderson 6'5" | PF Leo | 2020 State IL (Leo)
Anderson was one of the most physically imposing presences in the state this season. Big bodied and broad shouldered post is built like a college defensive end. He is an elite level rebounder. Snatches them with two hands on both ends of the floor. Plays with power moving bodies on the interior. JUCO prospect.
Jackson Connor Jackson Connor 6'6" | PF Marion | 2020 State IL (Marion)
Connor is a prospect we have seen throughout his career, but he definitely took it to new heights as a senior. Face up four with strength. Handles have gotten crisper and can stretch it out to beyond the three point arc. Hot name late in the process.
Justin Cross Justin Cross 6'7" | PF OPRF | 2020 State IL (OPRF)
Cross like Brown above will most likely end up in the 2021 class. The OPRF power forward has already informed PHI that his intention is to attend prep school next season. He has a lot of physical upside once his body fills out. Long and lanky lefty that can defend multiple positions and run the floor. Skills set continues to flash!
Elijah Watson Elijah Watson 6'6" | PF TF South | 2020 State IL (TF South)
This combo forward showed what he can do as a face up four. The 6’7” forward has tightened up his handles considerably. Can even put combination and spin moves on opponents for scores. He finishes well on dump off passes and scores in transition running the floor hard. Rim runner in the open floor. Hits the glass for second chance points with his quickness.
