The Review
At the Top – Maple Grove and Park Center. The Pirates didn’t quite have the year as expected but they were in position to play for state. The Crimson earned their way to state yet again and played even better than expected. PC, Spring Lake Park, Totino-Grace, and Armstrong were all ranked level teams in their half of the league while Maple Grove played to that level on the other side.
The Surprise – Several surprises in the Northwestern Suburban. Armstrong beat some big name teams and earned their way to the top ten for some time playing better than expected, as we said the Crimson were a few games better than expected, and Spring Lake Park wasn’t just good, they were a legit section championship winner contender good.
What Happened? – Osseo has a strong sophomore group but the season did not go quite the way many thought it would, although the talent is shining through in some spots. The Rebels of Champlin Park started the year as a top ten team and finished at 18-10, but had some rough spots.
Postseason All Northwest Suburban Conference
***We used the All Conference team voted on by the coaches and then added our twist of first team, second team, etc (we will make a change here and there if some of the choices are quite odd in our mind, but that’s rare).
