Below are the first five seniors looking for a landing spot at the next level.
Amound Anderson Amound Anderson 6'3" | SG Leuzinger | 2020 State #198 Nation CA-S , Leuzinger – It is still a mystery as to why Anderson is still on the board. The 6-foot-3 combo guard has an impeccable pedigree which includes being a four-year starter and the school’s leader in points scored. Anderson is a versatile offensive player who can initiate offense or play off the ball as needed and scores in a variety of ways from all three levels of the floor. The most transferable parts of Anderson’s game are his impact on winning and ability to lead.
David Cheatom David Cheatom 6'3" | SF L.A. Univeristy | 2020 State #418 Nation CA-S , L.A. University – Cheatom had a beast of a season, putting up averages of 20.4 points and 7.1 rebounds while leading the Wildcats to 18 wins. The 6-foot-4 wing isn’t the flashiest or highest flying player on the floor, but his versatility, toughness and high motor translate into winning basketball games. Cheatom is a guy whose intangibles, and willingness to do everything on the floor, will make him an immediate impact player at the Division II level.
Darryl Jackson, Jr. Darryl Jackson, Jr. 6'0" | CG Etiwanda | 2020 State CA-S , Etiwanda – If you’re looking for the ultimate competitor, look no further than Jackson. The 6-foot-1 combo guard didn’t back down from any challenges this season, even when it meant guarding Kentucky-bound guard Brandon Boston, Jr. of Sierra Canyon on three different occasions this season. Jackson is a high level playmaker in transition who takes a lot of pride in strapping up on the defensive end.
Jayce Catchings Jayce Catchings 6'4" | SF Rancho Christian | 2020 State CA-S , Rancho Christian – We’ve written plenty about Catchings and everything we said before still stands. The 6-foot-4 wing was one of the best sixth-men in all of Southern California this season, and a lot of times his presence shifted the momentum in the Eagles’ favor during close games. Catchings can guard multiple positions, rebounds well for his size and position, and can knock down the open catch-and-shoot three-pointer.
Nick Bowden Jr. Nick Bowden Jr. 6'0" | CG St. Bernard | 2020 State CA-S , St. Bernard – Like Jackson, Bowden brings 100 percent of his energy and effort to floor each and every game. The 6-footer has the ball skills, speed and basketball IQ to play on the ball, but his ability to stroke the three-point shot allows him to play the shooting guard position, as well. Bowden is at his best when he’s coming off of pin-down screens and pulling the quick trigger on his deep ball. he also showed that he’s a much-improved driver and finisher despite a lack of size.
