Chris Cain (2020) | Pine Bush
Cain was dominant on both sides of the ball all season long. For Class AA finalist Pine Bush, Cain averaged 23.9 points and 10.7 rebounds per contest. On the defensive end, he blocked just under six shots per game. Cain stood at 6’6 and had a smooth stroke from the outside. Cain shot 92% from the free throw line as well. Cain was as well-rounded a player as there was this season.
Josh Gattling (2020) | Monticello
Gattling scored his 1,000th point this season during his incredible senior campaign. He scored 20.6 points per game this season to lead the team. He also led the team in steals and was second on the team in rebounds and assists. Gattling was a do-it-all point guard for Monticello. He was a multi-faceted player who could get it done on both sides of the ball.
Kevin Stein (2020) | Chester
Stein will leave Chester as one of the best player’s in program history. He ranks second all-time in scoring with 1,245 points. He finished this season averaging 18.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and five assists per game. He also finished with 2.5 steals per game.
Jah’likai King (2022) | Newburgh Free Academy
King emerged as an all-star during his sophomore campaign. He is a 6’0 point guard who already has good size and some room to grow. King thrives in the open floor and getting to the rim when in the half court. As a shooter, King is above average but that is a part of his game that will continue to grow.
Matt Simmons (2021) | New Paltz
Simmons showed extreme growth this season and that will continue when he is a senior. He added a very consistent jump shot to go with his elite ball handling and driving ability. Simmons will turn into a top notch prospect next season after his junior campaign.
