Here are the top rebounders from District 28-6A during the 2019-2020 season:
Ze’Rik Onyema Ze’Rik Onyema 6'7" | C San Antonio John Jay | 2020 State TX – 6-7 Forward – Jay (2020)
During 30 games played Onyema averaged 12.2 rebounds per contest, which led the district by over 2 boards per game more than the next best rebounder. His explosiveness around the rim and tenacity towards grabbing a board totaled him 366 rebounds on the season, including 83 on offense.
Adam Benhayoune – 6-4 Forward – O’Connor (2021)
Benhayoune was the clear cut next best rebounder in the district as he finished second in total rebounds with 328, and second in averaging 9.9 rebounds per game across 33 contests. A brick down in the paint with a knack for finding the ball, Benhayoune showed off good technique when battling on the boards.

Castille was a machine on the offensive boards finishing with the most in the district (87). He brought down a total of 223 over 34 games played while averaging 6.6 rebounds per contest. Even though he played the 2&3 positions, he showed that he was more than willing to get physical in the paint.
Josh Russell – 6-4 Forward – Marshall (2020)
Russel was fourth in the district in total rebounds secured bringing down 196. He also finished second in offensive rebounds with 86 and averaged 6.3 boards per game. Russell is a big-body post player who knows how to position himself well in box-outs situations.
Angelo Samudio – 6-3 Forward – Stevens (2021)
A blue-collar worker in the paint, Samudio averaged 6.4 rebounds per game and brought down 191 total boards during the season. Samudio will be one to watch for Stevens heading into his senior year next fall.
Tysen Rodgers – 6-0 Guard – Marshall (2020)
