Over the next few weeks, we will dive deep into the main statistical categories of the top-scoring, three-point shooting, rebounding, and defensive players in each district, as well as our All-District team selections.
This past week we covered District 28-6A, which features high school programs: Brandeis Broncos, Brennan Bears, Clark Cougars, Holmes Huskies, Jay Mustangs, Marshall Rams, O’Connor Panthers, Stevens Falcons, Taft Raiders, and Warren Warriors.

After highlighting the top scorers, rebounds, defenders, and deep-range shooters, we have compiled our own 1st team and 2nd team All-District selections.
Here are the 2019-20 All-District Team selections for 28-6A:
First Team All-District:
G – Tanner Brown (6-2) – Brandeis (2020)
- Averaged 15.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. Shot 46% from three-point territory and 85% at the free-throw line.
G – Tysen Rodgers (6-0) – Marshall (2020)
- Averaged 17.4 points, 8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Had eight double-doubles on the season. Shot 74% from the free-throw line.
F – Kyle Castille Kyle Castille 6'4" | SF San Antonio Brennan | 2020 State TX (6-3) – Brennan (2020)
- Averaged 15.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per contest. Finished in top-five in scoring, rebounds, and double-doubles (7) on the season.
F – Adam Benhayoune (6-4) – O’Connor (2021)
- Averaged 17.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. Had 18 double-doubles, and was top-two in both average scoring and rebounding categories. Shot 74% from the free-throw line and 39% from beyond the arc.
F – Ze’Rik Onyema Ze’Rik Onyema 6'7" | C San Antonio John Jay | 2020 State TX (6-7) – Jay (2020)
- Averaged 18.1 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, and 1 assist per game. Led the district in average for points, rebounds, blocks, and double-doubles (19). Shot 62% from the floor, and 64% from the free-throw line.
Second Team All-District:
G – Kino Rodriguez-Thompson (6-0) – Warren (2020)
- Averaged 14.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per contest. Hit 40% from beyond the arc and 83% at the free-throw line.
G – Kyle Schaefer (6-3) – Brandeis (2020)
- Averaged 15.4 points, 3 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. Shot 39% from deep and 79% from the free-throw line.
G – Brock Lassiter (6-1) – Stevens (2020)
- Averaged 14.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.3 assists per game. Hit 42% from three-point range.
F – Norman Beckford Norman Beckford 6'6" | PF San Antonio Brennan | 2020 State TX (6-6) – Brennan (2020)
- Averaged 15.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals per contest. Shot 54% from the floor and 71% from the charity stripe.
F – Angelo Samudio (6-3) – Stevens (2021)
- Averaged 13.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game. Shot 74% from the free-throw line.
