The two guard is a plus athlete that brings a lot of energy. That is shown with how well he rebounds from his guard position. Flies in for rebounds on both ends. Offensively he is at his best off the dribble and getting to the charity stripe. Streaky perimeter shooter. He is a quality wing defender that can guard either backcourt player.
Williams spoke with PHI about his junior season.
“It has gone pretty good. We went on a losing streak, but we have been able to pick it back up. I have been playing ok. I could play better. My shot has been a little bit off. I just have to get a better shot and be better at finding my teammates.”
Where has he felt that he has excelled?
“Making other people better and bringing a defensive effort. Being a leader.”
His activity on the glass and energy has impressed us.
“Just getting extra possessions because we have to be a good defensive team to win games.”
With the graduation of guys like EJ Liddell, Keith Randolph, and Lawrence Brazil from last year’s state title squad what did he take from them that he is applying to this years team.
“Stay calm, trust the process, and be a leader. Just work hard every day and lead by example.”
Miami (OH) and Central Michigan are a pair of programs that Williams mentioned are in constant communication with him. He broke down both programs.
Central Michigan
“I like the pace of how they play and how they get up and guard.”
Miami (OH)
“I like their coach. They are like a family and make you feel at home.”
