Thomas finishes well around the hoop on drives and is a sound shooter. Improving perimeter shooter that is getting more consistent from three. Has a stop and pop mid-range game as well. Crisp passer that has been able to get others involved this season.
Thomas joined an already loaded Dolphins squad transferring in this season from Aurora Christian.
“The transition was actually hard. Lots of ups and downs this season. Inconsistency. I would have an ok game and then come out and play great. I know next year my role will be a lot bigger next year.”
What he found to be his role?
“Make open shots. Get to the basket only when I need to. I don’t need to dribble as much, because we have DJ and Tyler that do that. I have to defend.”
Thomas says it has been valuable learning from his two high-major senior backcourt mates.
“It is a great experience. Getting to go up against them every day in practice. Even when I am on the bench I try to watch what they do.”
Right now what are his strengths as a player?
“My shot. I like threes and mid-range. Getting to the basket when I can. I have to work on my defense.”
He updates us on his recruitment.
“I have been talking to Tulsa. It has kind of been flat. I am waiting for AAU.”
