As previously noted, the class of 2022 here in South Florida is loaded. An additional talent out of North Broward Prep is 6'8" forward Justin Abson. Abson guided the Eagles to an 18-11 record and a spot in the 4A-13 district championship this past season. Like similar stars in the South Florida area, the sophomore picked up the game long before making a name for himself in Coconut Creek.

"My dad always had a ball in my hands", said Abson. "When I was little I played on those Little Tykes basketball hoops. He would always take me to the park to work on my game and after that I just fell in love with it."

With his father's guidance, the hard work Abson developed at a young age seems to be paying off. According to MaxPreps, the sophomore averaged a double-double this season with 15.9 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. In addition, Abson swatted away an impressive 2.6 blocks per game with his 7'2" wingspan. A consistent scorer for North Broward Prep, Abson finished in double figures in all but three games this season.
