Program Preview: Strive Basketball
We are right around the corner from the start of the AAU season on the PrepHoops Circuit and we will be taking a look at the teams that will be participating in the PrepHoops Circuit Hustle Region. Here’s a look at Strive Basketball, who will be participating at the Hustle Season Kick off, the Bash in the Desert, Rampage in Rip City, and Hustle Region Finals.
Here’s a conversation we had with coach Levi Wenrich.
Why did you start your program? How long have you been around?
We started our program to give players and coaches a platform where they could develop and help one another to open doors for new opportunities.
What is the goal of your program for 2019?
The goal of our program for 2020 is to continue to build the skill sets and Basketball IQ of all our players while finding homes for our seniors to play at the next level.
What is your program’s mission each year?
Our mission each year is to chase our potential both on and off the court. To let players know that someone believes in them so that in turn, they can believe in themselves. That’s what Strive Basketball is all about.
Do you know of any players that will be back in your program this year? Who should we have our eye on?
A couple seniors that are gathering interest are Clyde Seo (class of 2020) and Ruke Agbabune (class of 2020). Clyde is a big guard and at times, a mismatch problem with his combination of strength, mobility and court vision. Ruke possesses a unique combination of Size, length and the ability to stretch the floor from 3pt. His best basketball is still ahead of him.
A few 2021 guys to keep an eye on is Dillon Barrientos and Bryan Malcolm. Both point guards are savvy playmakers and help create for others. Sam Goldman and Kyle Hardnett are two high academic combo guards that can really shoot the ball as well as put it on the floor.
Why did you choose the Prep Hoops Circuit?
We chose the Prep Hoops Circuit because of the high level of service and effort that is all for the benefit of these student athletes. PrepHoops is building a strong platform and we feel very fortunate to be a part of it.
