The Prep Hoops Circuit is just around the corner!  It is time for us to start previewing the teams participating in the circuit!

We caught up with Scott Samach of Atlanta Timberwolves to discuss their upcoming season!  Check out what he had to say!

The History: We started as a 16U team back in 2015 with mostly high academic kids and we moved up to 17U in 2016 and have grown our program each year. This is the 1st year we have had multiple teams. We have had kids play Alabama and South Carolina play with us in addition to all around Georgia.

2020 Goals: The goal of our program never changes. Most importantly we want to put our players in front of as many appropriate level college coaches as possible. Getting our guy’s maximum exposure is always the #1 goal. In addition, I want to send them back to their high school coaches a better basketball player than they left them.

The Mission: We have a lot of higher academic guys every year. It makes recruiting them really easy for schools since they don’t have to worry about grades and test scores with our guys. We take pride in playing hard, sharing the basketball, and being great teammates on and off the floor. Those 3 things have led to our success in the past few years.

Why Prep Hoops: We chose to participate in the Prep Hoops Circuit this year to provide additional exposure for our teams in addition to the normal events we play annually.

Players to Watch:

17U “White”:
| 6’5 | Jr | SG | Max Hrdlicka #11 | Glynn Academy | has received interest from multiple D1 schools and has taken an unofficial visit to Davidson already. He can really really shoot the ball and also mixes in some impressive dunks as well!
| 5’10 | Jr | Brookes Kahlert #1 | St Pius X | & | #2 | 6’1 | Jr | Will Kolker | Pope | two of the best passing PGs in the 2021 class in Georgia. Both are extremely talented and will be keys to our offense this spring.
| 6’3 | Jr | SG | Brendan Rigsbee #5 | North Gwinnett | super athletic wing who can really shoot it also! Consistently plays above the rim. I’m expecting a breakout spring and summer from him.
17U “Green”:
| 6’0 | Jr | Dylan Garrington #2 | North Oconee | one of the best shooters I’ve ever coached. He can flat out shoot it! Also a really good passer as well!
| 6’2 | Jr | SG | Robert Reisman #23 | Gainesville | really athletic guard who had a very good junior season at school. Plays above the rim and is a really good defender.
| 6’3 | Jr | PG | Chris Lengyel #24 | Southside (AL) | is coming from Alabama to play with us. Super gifted PG who can score the ball in various ways. He has great size for a PG and is a super high IQ kid.
| 6’1 | SG | #3 Jaden Gibson | Dawson County | was a key contributor to his Dawson County team as a freshman. He plays incredibly hard all the time and is a great defender. Plays above the rim already and can really shoot it also!
| 5’10 | #32 Zak Thomas | Fellowship Christian | burst onto the varsity scene as a freshman this winter. Was averaging 25 PPG over his first few varsity games and had a 39 point game this season also. He can really score the ball!
| 6’5 | PF | #34 Aidan Temple | Johns Creek | can score the ball inside and out. Can score inside via post moves against smaller defenders and can step out and hit 3s as well (over 50% this winter at Johns Creek).
