While the top 5 remained unchanged, the bottom five of the Top 10 saw a lot of shifting, with three new players cracking the top of the list. After lurking below the Top 10, a few prospects have managed to move up given their performance at the high school level. The newest names are Jeremy Gregory Jeremy Gregory 6'8" | PF Oak Hill Academy | 2022 State NC , DJ Nix DJ Nix 6'7" | SF Cannon | 2022 State #211 Nation NC , Cam Oates Cam Oates 5'10" | PG New Life Christian | 2023 State NC and Avion Pinner Avion Pinner 6'9" | PF Concord Academy | 2023 State NC . This is quite a talented class and as the season progress, look for things to change a bit more, especially as prospects develop heading into the spring and summer.
Expansion to 100 Prospects
As the season’s progress and the players in the 2022 class develop, keep an eye out for the list to grow. In this edition, the list has gone from 75 prospects to 100 total prospects. Look for the list to expand to 125 by the end of the summer.
Notable Additions
No. 78 Dee Barnett, New Hanover
New Hanover guard Dee Barnett was pivotal in their run to the 3A State Playoffs. He produced 11.0 ppg, 2.9 apg, 2.3 spg and 2.2 rpg in 2019-20 as a sophomore.
No 80 Magnus Swinger Magnus Swinger 6'5" | SF Concord Academy | 2023 State NC , Concord
Magnus Swinger Magnus Swinger 6'5" | SF Concord Academy | 2023 State NC had a breakout season for Concord in the frontcourt, putting up 9.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg and 1.6 bpg in 2019-20. He’s a 6-foot-5 versatile wing to keep an eye on.
No. 88 Terry Moore Terry Moore 6'0" | PG Washington | 2022 State NC , Washington
Terry Moore Terry Moore 6'0" | PG Washington | 2022 State NC is due for a big junior season after playing behind Rashod Smith Rashod Smith 6'0" | PG Washington | 2020 State NC in 2019-20. He put up 5.7 ppg, 3.5 rpg and 1.9 apg off the bench.
No. 89 Cam Lutterloh Cam Lutterloh 6'3" | SG River Mill Academy | 2022 State NC , River Mill Academy
6-foot guard Cam Lutterloh Cam Lutterloh 6'3" | SG River Mill Academy | 2022 State NC continues to improve on the hardwood following another season. He produced 17.9 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.3 spg and 1.5 apg as River Mill’s biggest weapon alongside Chase Mebane Chase Mebane 6'4" | PF River Mill Academy | 2020 State NC .
No. 94 Kevion Waller Kevion Waller 5'5" | PG J.H. Rose | 2022 State NC , J.H. Rose
Kevion Waller Kevion Waller 5'5" | PG J.H. Rose | 2022 State NC isn’t the biggest floor general at 5-foot-5, but he makes up for it with his ability to make an impact on both ends. He averaged 14.3 ppg, 4.0 apg, 3.2 rpg and 3.2 spg in his second full season on varsity.
Stock Risers
There were quite a few prospects who saw their stock rise following productive sophomore high school seasons. Here’s a look at a few stock risers in the latest update:
Guard Nayshin Waller Nayshin Waller 6'3" | CG Wayne Country Day | 2023 State NC – Princeton
No. 53 to No. 19
Waller had another productive high school season, putting up 16.6 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.5 apg and 2.0 steals per game. He’ll be one to watch this spring and summer in this class.
Point Guard Quave Propst-Allison Quave Propst-Allison 6'0" | PG Providence Day | 2022 State NC – Cox Mill
No. 35 to No. 28
Propst was one of the top players on this year’s Cox Mill squad after they had to reload due to graduation. He put up a team-high 15.9 ppg along with 6.1 rpg, 4.3 apg and 1.6 spg. He’ll be another guard to keep an eye on this spring and summer.
Forward Chatham Lambiotte Chatham Lambiotte 6'6" | PF Cape Fear Academy | 2022 State NC – Cape Fear Academy
No. 68 to No. 56
Lambiotte played a pivotal role in Cape Fear Academy’s 3A NCISAA State Playoff run to the semifinals in the frontcourt. As he learns to play big in the post, he’s a 6-foot-6 forward to keep an eye on.
