Lynch was the lone freshman considered for All-District honors this season after leading the way for the Greyhounds with 15.9 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.1 spg and 2.0 apg as a freshman. He’s a prospect that can fill it up already and will be one to watch from the area for the next few seasons.
2022 Guard Gunner Walters – Mount Tabor
Walters is another young prospect that stepped up big for the Spartans in 2019-20. He’s quite the ballhandler at 5-foot-11 that can create for himself and others off the bounce and stood out as one of the top prospects in the early going. He’s a young prospect to keep an eye on over the next few seasons.
2023 Guard/Wing Will Gray Will Gray 6'2" | CG East Forsyth | 2023 State NC – Forsyth Country Day
Gray is a 6-foot-2 guard that shouldn’t be slept on on either end of the floor. He’s got a quick first step which lets him get by his defenders and get to the rim. Then on defense, he’s got solid awareness that allows him to
2022 Guard Julius Reese Jr Julius Reese Jr 6'3" | CG Greensboro Day | 2023 State NC . – Glenn
Reese is a 6-foot-4 guard that uses his size and skill set well to make plays for the Bobcats. He was a key leader for this year’s squad as they went 16-12 on the season and made it to the second round of the state playoffs. They’ve got a young core set to make waves and Reese will lead the way.
2022 Forward Amare Miller Amare Miller 6'7" | C The Burlington School | 2022 State NC – Piedmont Classical
Miller is a big man with tons of mobility for his size at 6-foot-6. He runs the floor well rim to rim and finishes strong in the paint when he establishes position. As he learns to become a bigger presence on the defensive end, he’ll be a name to know in the HoopState.
2nd Team
2022 Guard Zion Dixon Zion Dixon 6'0" | CG Glenn | 2022 State NC – Glenn
Dixon is a confident lead guard that won’t hesitate to find his rhythm early in the game. He’s another key piece of the rotation for the Bobcats in 2019-20 as they made waves in the conference tournament and beyond. He can score it on all three levels and doesn’t let his 5-foot-10 height slow him down at all.
2022 Guard Caden Fitzgibbons – Mount Airy
Fitzgibbons is a 6-foot-1 guard that is automatic offense from rebound to rim when he gets a full head of steam. He put up 11.9 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.2 spg and 1.3 apg in 2019-20 as the aggressor on offense for the Granite Bears. He’s a young prospect to keep an eye on at Mount Airy.
2022 Guard/Wing Dawson Mcalhany – Bishop McGuinness
The Villains didn’t have the greatest of seasons after winning the 1A State crown in 2018-19 but they got a lot of good from Mcalhany. He’s an up-and-coming prospect with tons of game and athleticism. He competes on both ends and is quite the wiry prospect at 6-foot-3. He’ll be a kid from the area to keep an eye on.
2022 Wing/Guard Tyler Ledwell – Winston-Salem Prep
Ledwell has been an X-Factor type player for the Phoenix in their run to the 1A State Title game. While Stephen Minor and T.J. Mills T.J. Mills 6'3" | CG Quality Education | 2021 State NC have led the way with the ball, he’s filled in the gaps on the glass and defensively. He’ll be a prospect to keep an eye on for a top team in the state.
2022 Forward Nolan Hodge – Northern Guilford
Hodge is a name to get to know at Northern Guilford. He’s a 6-foot-4 forward with the ability to play inside and on the wing. He was an All-District third-team selection for the Nighthawks after averaging 14.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.7 apg and 1.5 spg in 2019-20. He’ll be a breakout prospect in this class in 2020-21.
