MVP: Guard Jamarii Thomas Jamarii Thomas 6'1" | PG The Burlington School | 2021 State NC – Piedmont Classical
Thomas was a stellar piece of the Bobcats’ rotation in 2019-20 as they won another state title in their division. He put up 15.6 points, 2.9 assists, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 steals per contest as they went 25-9 on the year and boasted one of the top teams in the area. Thomas is an athletic guard that makes thing happen on both ends. He’s quick in passing lanes for steals and works to the rim on offense for scores with ease using his athleticism. He’s a lead by example type with offers from Winthrop, Mars Hill, Catawba and Lees-McRae.
1st Team
Guard Breon Pass Breon Pass 6'1" | PG Reidsville | 2021 State #193 Nation NC – Reidsville
Pass is a Conference Player of the Year performer and an All-District selection as one of the top guards in the state. He produced 21.1 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 7.3 apg and 3.2 spg as he led the Rams to the Elite 8 of this year’s 2A Playoffs and to a 26-3 alongside Auldon Edwards. He’s a prospect with tons of ability to fill up the stat sheet. He holds offers from Hampton, NC A&T, NC State, Elon and East Carolina.
Guard/Wing T.J. Mills T.J. Mills 6'3" | CG Quality Education | 2021 State NC – Winston-Salem Prep
Mills was another big reason the Phoenix made it to the 1A State Final with his ability to score on all three levels.He led the team in scoring this year with 17.5 ppg to go along with 3.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals per contest. He was an All-Conference selection as Winston-Salem Prep went 9-1 in conference action in 2019-20. He’s a 6-foot-3 versatile prospect that can operate with and without the ball and make plays on the floor.
Wing/Guard Caden Davis Caden Davis 6'3" | CG RJ Reynolds | 2021 State NC – R.J. Reynolds
Davis is a prospect that fill it up in bunches, especially in isolation. He was the Conference Player of the Year after a strong year in the backcourt. He’s got a nice feel for handling the ball at 6-foot-4 that he uses well to navigate in the midrange and in the paint. He’s got nice length and athleticism which allows him to finish above the rim as well when needed. He’ll be a breakout star to watch in 2020-21.
Guard Camian Shell Camian Shell 5'10" | PG Winston-Salem Christian | 2022 State NC – Parkland
Shell is an explosive guard and one of the ultimate competitors in the area in the backcourt. He was an All-District and All-Conference performer given the year he had in leading Parkland to a Conference Tournament crown. He’s smart and quick and effective at getting in the paint and making plays at a high rate. He’ll be another breakout to watch for in 2020-21.
Forward Daniel Cooper – Grimsley
Cooper was an underrated piece in the frontcourt this season for the Whirlies. He’s a 6-foot-4 forward that led the team in rebounds this season with 8.4 per contest to go along with 12.7 points and 1.9 assists per game. He earned All-Conference honors after the Whirlies went 7-1 in the Metro Athletic Conference. He’s a prospect that gets after in the paint with his efficient scoring.
2nd Team
Guard Kadyn Dawkins Kadyn Dawkins 5'9" | CG Eastern Guilford | 2021 State NC – Eastern Guilford
Dawkins is a 5-foot-8 guard that exudes confidence as a scorer and defender on the floor. He has “in the gym” range which allows him to shoot from anywhere on the floor and is one of the top creators off the bounce in his class. He doesn’t try to overdo things with the ball in his hands and can fill it up from all three levels. He was a big reason the Wildcats went 12-0 in conference action in 2019-20 and will be another key piece next season.
Guard Jamarien Dalton Jamarien Dalton 6'2" | CG North Davidson | 2021 State NC – North Davidson
Dalton is a name that should grow over the next few months over at North Davidson, who went 25-5 in 2019-20. He was a second-team All-District performer as well as a first-team All-Conference performer this season as one of the top options in the backcourt for the Black Knights. He’s a 6-foot-2 guard that can do a little bit of everything and really get after it on the defensive end.
Wing/Guard Omari Bolden Omari Bolden 6'3" | CG Quality Education | 2022 State NC – Parkland
Bolden was one key reason for the Mustangs success in 2019-20. He’s a bouncy slasher that can get to the paint and finish through contact with no hesitation. He produced 18.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.9 apg and 1.6 spg as they went 22-5 on the year and 7-3 in conference action. He’ll be a junior to keep an eye on in the coming months.
Forward/Wing Kamell Smith – Eastern Guilford
Smith is an explosive athlete that plays well wherever he roams with the ball in the Wildcats’ rotation. He’s a 6-foot-4 versatile prospect that can attack the rim and shoot it from deep. Defensively, he’s a solid defender and rebounder that won’t hesitate to battle in the paint. He’s a prospect to keep an eye on at Eastern Guilford as well.
Anthony Sellars Anthony Sellars 6'7" | SF Quality Education Academy | 2022 State NC – Winston-Salem Prep
Sellars is a 6-foot-7 forward with tremendous upside in the paint. He’s got nice length that he uses well to show his touch around the rim. He put up 10.4 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 1.3 apg and 1.3 bpg on the season as the Phoenix made it all the way to the 1A State Title game. He holds offers from Tulsa, Winthrop and High Point.
3rd Team
Guard Tyreik Leach – R.J. Reynolds
Leach is a combo guard with a high IQ for making plays at the point guard position. He led the team in scoring this season with 16.3 ppg along with 2.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.8 steals per contest. He was named to first-team All-Conference performer and closed the season strong with a number of 20+ point performances.
Guard Tedric Jenkins – North Davidson
Jenkins is an explosive guard despite his height at 5-foot-9. He produced 16.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.8 apg and 1.2 spg alongside Jamarien Dalton Jamarien Dalton 6'2" | CG North Davidson | 2021 State NC in the backcourt as they terrorized opposing backcourts all season long. They’ll be back in 2020-21 with more to prove.
Guard/Wing Jaden Ellis Jaden Ellis 6'1" | CG Page | 2021 State NC – Page
Ellis is a shifty and athletic guard that led the way for the Pirates in 2019-20. He averaged 15.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game as Page had a decent season from an overall standpoint. Their returning talent should boost their results in 2020-21 with Ellis leading the way.
Wing/Forward Jay Mitchell – Forsyth Country Day
Mitchell is a highlight reel waiting to happen with his ability to get to the rim and finish with authority. He’s an athletic freak at 6-foot-4 that flies around on both ends, making plays for the Furies. He’ll be a breakout prospect to watch after putting up 15.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest.
Forward/Wing Micah Williams – Lexington Senior
Williams is an underrated 6-foot-4 forward prospect at Lexington Senior. He excelled as a versatile option in the rotation in 2019-20, putting up 7.6 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per contest in 2019-20. As one of the top returners for next season, he’ll be a name to keep an eye on after excelling on the glass this past season.
