MVP: Will Richardson Will Richardson 6'2" | PG Bergen Catholic | 2022 State #76 Nation NJ (2022) | Bergen Catholic
Richardson was the clear-cut best player on the floor for Bergen Catholic throughout the tournament. The sophomore averaged 22.7 points over three games including a 29-point performance in the semi-finals against Don Bosco. Richardson led the way with 21 points in a double-overtime win over St. Peter’s Prep in the final.
First Team
Matt Zona Matt Zona 6'9" | PF Bergen Catholic | 2020 State #200 Nation NJ (2020) | Bergen Catholic: Zona showed why he has a commitment to Notre Dame. The big man notched a double-double in the finals with 20 points and 12 rebounds. This was his second 20-point game of the tournament.
Mark Armstrong Mark Armstrong 6'2" | PG St. Peter's Prep | 2022 State #39 Nation NJ (2022) | St. Peter’s Prep: Armstrong was an elite scorer all season long with 558 points. He was one of the best sophomores in the state and will continue to be a top player next season. He scored 28 points in both the semis and championship game.
Rayshawn Ford Rayshawn Ford 6'2" | SG St. Peter's Prep | 2021 State NJ (2021) | St. Peter’s Prep: This team must be looking forward to next season already. Ford scored 20 or more points in all three games and averaged 22 per game for the tournament.
Brendan Mykalcio (2020) | Don Bosco: Despite the semi-final loss, Mykalcio was one of the best players in the tournament. He finished with 26 points and eight rebounds against Paramus Catholic before putting 17 up in the semis.
Derrick Bueno Derrick Bueno 6'7" | PF Roselle Catholic | 2021 State NJ (2021) | Paramus Catholic: Bueno was a double-double machine this season and he finished with two more in the tournament. Bueno put up 34 points and 14 rebounds on Pope John in round one. He then scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a loss to Don Bosco.
