Tons of high level prospects all over the floor and the stars brought it! Here we dive into our Most Intriguing Prospects: Prolific Prep vs Our Saviour Lutheran!
Nimari Burnett (Prolific Prep – 2020)
The Texas Tech commit closed out his high school career in style! Burnett is a 6’4” combo guard from Chicago that has evolved into a well-rounded playmaker in the backcourt over the last few years. His biggest strength is his perimeter shooting. He drilled five of them in the first half and six overall. Burnett is among the premier snipers especially off the catch nationally. The Red Raiders commit has an effortless release with deep range on his shot. Much more than just a shooter. Slick ball handler that works well around ball screens and has an excellent runner in the lane. His passing has separated him as a prospect. Made smooth dishes in the paint and found his open teammates all night. Burnett had 37 points in the win.
Jalen Green (Prolific Prep – 2020)
Green is among the best uncommitted prospects nationally. The elite 5-star prospect and future lottery pick made an immediate impact in his final high school game. The 6’6” shooting guard is a human pogo stick with his hops! He stared off with a pair of monster dunks. He also had the three ball working hitting them both off the catch and pulling up. Green can really create his own shot both driving and creating space to get his shot off while getting a lot of height off the floor on his jumper. Tight handles allow him to be slippery through traffic. His passing was very impressive as well throwing lobs, 3/4 court bounce passes on the money, and finding Burnett for threes. Green had 23 points.
Coleman Hawkins (Prolific Prep – 2020)
At 6’10” Hawkins is a skilled face up four man that has already signed with Illinois. They are getting a very skilled prospect with physical upside. Will need to fill out strength wise to play in the Big 10, but he definitely has some intriguing tools. Like the two mentioned above his passing was outstanding. Made quick decisions with the ball especially when he got it in the high-post. Lengthy forward can stretch the floor with his shooting and runs the court pretty well end to end. Will rebound at a higher rate once he adds strength. Finished with 7 points.
Frank Anslelem (Prolific Prep – 2021)
Anselem is a 6’10” center that has broad shoulders and a frame to continue to add strength. Most effective finishing inside on dump off passes, lobs, and getting on the offensive glass. He had 12 points.
Mawot Mag (Prolific Prep – 2020)
The Rutgers commit is a bouncy power forward that can put it on the deck from the high post. Runs the floor very well and is quick to the glass. Active four man. He had 7 points.
Saba Gigiberia (Prolific Prep – 2020)
This 7’1” center played limited minutes, but he is definitely intriguing. Shot blocking presence and caught a big lob for his only two points. Still raw, but has developmental upside at the next level playing for Georgia Tech.
Posh Alexander (Our Saviour Lutheran – 2020)
What a gutty performance this St. John’s commit put on in the championship game. OSL played a game just a couple hours earlier and he was fighting through cramps in the second half, but he kept bringing it. The 5’11” bowling ball scoring guard kept in attack mode all night long. Powerful with the ball in his hands getting downhill over and over for scores through contact along with and-1s. Complimented that with a couple threes, but his driving game is his forte. Passes it with some flair and gets after it on the defensive end. Finished with 34 points.
Jaquan Sanders (Our Saviour Lutheran – 2022)
Sanders is a 6’3” shooting guard that has a bright future. Smooth looking stroke on his jumper. The results were up and down, but he definitely should translate into a quality shooter down the line. Hit a pair of threes along with a runner. Good length. Scored 10 points.
Ayo Sadiku (Our Saviour Lutheran – 2022)
Sadiku stands at 6’6” and the combo forward showcased a good shooting stroke hitting both a baseline jumper along with a three from the wing. Bouncy around the hoop finishing dump offs and getting on the glass for put backs. He had 12 points.
Dylan Addae-Wusu (Our Saviour Lutheran – 2020)
This St. John’s commit had a quiet night only scoring 8 points. Scoring guard that brings toughness to the table. Didn’t shoot it very well.
Maximus Edwards (Our Saviour Lutheran – 2021)
Slick handling lefty guard at 6’5” that likes to utilize his skills getting in the lane for runners. Had a creative reverse layup and a couple dunks. Went for 10 points.
