In the coming weeks, we at PrepHoops Indiana plan on bringing you the best coverage in the state during this fun time. Let us take a look at some of the top prospects from Tuesday’s Zionsville vs Fishers game, which makes up part of the Noblesville Sectional.
Fishers:
Isaac Farah – 6’8 2020 C: Even with surprisingly coming off the bench in this one, Farah found ways to make his presence known for Fishers. At the start of the game he had a smooth catch-and-3 along with a few good rebounds throughout. Really like how well Farah runs the floor for a big. He is a little more on the slim side so will need to add a few extra pounds of muscle at the next level.
Alex Szilagyi – 6’0 2020 PG: This PG is a very smart player and good defender. One of the sneakier parts of his game is that he can shoot the ball pretty well. Also had an important And1 towards the end of the game. Szilagyi finished with 6 points.
Jeffrey Simmons – 6’7 2022 PF: For only being a sophomore, Simmons plays extremely hard and he makes you often forget that he is so young. Had a couple strong rebounds that showed off his willingness to want the ball. His jumper is not fully there yet so he will need to work on that in the spring and summer. Love the way this PF plays and will be excited to see how much better he gets in the offseason. He finished with 4 points.
Zionsville:
Anthony Scales – 6’4 2020 SF: Scales is such a quick and athletic SF. Had a steal and a high, elevated block on the night. His best move/play of the game was his post-up, fadeaway shot that hit nothing but the net. Also had a crucial And1 as well. Scales was the leading scorer on the night with 10 points.
Gunnar Vannatta – 6’8 2020 C: Vannatta has one of the biggest frames I have seen on a center this year. Had 4 blocks, a huge slam, and a couple rebounds this game. The only thing I think he needs to work on is that he looks to be too slow at times, so he needs to be quicker on his decision-making down low. But with that said, this powerful senior has the tools to play at the next level. He finished with 7 points.
Jackson Hughes – 6’4 2020 SF: Hughes was the star of the game with his game-winning basket in the final seconds. This senior is aggressive and he showed that with his strong right-handed layup at the beginning of the game. Also add in he is an excellent defender. May have only ended up with 4 points, but 2 of those points were the most important of the game.
Isaiah Davis – 6’6 2022 PF: Davis is a long and strong PF. Had a couple of rebounds on the defensive end. I did notice that it looks like Davis is thinking a little too much at times instead of just relaxing and playing naturally. A lot of young prospects seem to have that problem at times so Davis has time to fix that. By his senior year, his game play should be at another level.
Nicholas Richart – 6’6 2023 PF: Richart was the sole freshman to log important minutes in the game. Had floater and nice rebound. This very young prospect has tons of potential and looks to be a smart PF. He is only going to get better and better. His time will come sooner rather than later.
