Cameron Sheffield did heavy lifting down the stretch as Chattahoochee survived in overtime 69-66 to win their first state title. Sheffield scored the Cougars’ first seven points of overtime as he went for a game-high 31 points and 8 rebounds in the win. Sheffield put his head down and got into the paint on hard drives, finished with soft floaters and physical layups. He went 6-8 from the line. His trademark three-point shot wasn’t falling (1-5) but Sheffield quickly made adjustments to stay impactful. It was a mature showing from the big wing.

AJ White AJ White 5'11" | PG Chattahoochee | 2021 State GA scored 15 of his 22 points in the first half and got Chattahoochee off to a quick start. Even though he slowed down in the second half, White had an efficient night going 4-9 from the field and 3-7 from deep. White knocked down 11-12 free throws. White is an elite scorer and pound for pound the best in the state of Georgia. He is someone D-I schools should pile in on. In this day and age, there is no excuse for colleges to let undersized studs slip through the cracks.

Sion James Sion James 6'5" | PG Lanier | 2020 State GA was a monster. Lanier could have thrown in the towel numerous times but James would not let them. The Tulane-signee scored all 10 overtime points for the Longhorns and finished with 27 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. He went 8-15 from the field and 11-15 from the line while only turning the ball over thrice. James is chiseled like Adonis and used his muscular build to bully his way into the paint. Before the game he was described as “the LeBron James of high school basketball”. With his overpowering strength and strong skillset, its easy to see how he can simply will his team to victory. James could be nearly unstoppable if he develops a three-point shot.
2020 6-6 F Sam Hines Sam Hines 6'6" | SF Wheeler | 2020 State GA – Wheeler – Denver
Sam Hines Sam Hines 6'6" | SF Wheeler | 2020 State GA had a near perfect game in Wheeler’s nationwide stunner of Grayson. Hines was incredible and unstoppable, going 11-12 from the field and 6-8 from the line to finish with a legendary 28 points and 9 rebounds. Hines played with a chip on his shoulder, constantly attacking the interior of the Grayson defense. He had four offensive rebounds including the deciding board with 1.1 seconds left that drew a foul and allowed him to knock down the game-winning free throw. Hines was explosive around the basket. He drove and gathered himself with two-feet jump stops and elevated to finish strong. He tore down the rim every chance he got. Hines knocked down mid-range jumpers when forced to. He is an absolute steal for Denver and has somehow gotten even better each time I see him.
2020 6-0 PG Nash Kelly Nash Kelly 6'2" | PG Wheeler | 2020 State GA – Wheeler
Nash Kelly Nash Kelly 6'2" | PG Wheeler | 2020 State GA turned into Mr. Reliable for the Wildcats. Kelly saw his role expand midway through the season when Isaiah Collier Isaiah Collier 6'4" | PG Wheeler | 2023 State #8 Nation GA broke his shoulder. Kelly isn’t a huge scorer but he’s a trustworthy pass-first point guard. Kelly is a strong compact guard that executes the offense without trying to do too much. He had 6 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 steal. He could be a late stock riser this offseason.
2020 6-6 W Toneari Lane Toneari Lane 6'5" | SF Grayson | 2020 State #433 Nation GA – Grayson – Winthrop
Toneari Lane Toneari Lane 6'5" | SF Grayson | 2020 State #433 Nation GA had a strong final game with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals. He went 5-10 from the field, 3-5 from deep and 5-6 from the line. He drilled a late three with 14 seconds left to tie the game up before Hines’ go-ahead free throws. Lane projects to be a 3-&-D guy at the next level. His toughness and ability to hit big shots late will play well at the next level.

11 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals was Deivon Smith Deivon Smith 6'0" | PG Grayson | 2020 State #63 Nation GA ‘s final high school line. Smith got banged up throughout the game but played a key role in getting Grayson back in the game. He hit two pull-up threes to spark a 23-4 run that gave the Rams the lead in the fourth quarter. His beautiful drive and dish assist to the opposite corner to Toneari Lane Toneari Lane 6'5" | SF Grayson | 2020 State #433 Nation GA will be etched in the minds of Grayson fans as his final offensive possession – a beautiful one.
