There are many Division I offers already in the class and that will continue as these players get better over the next two years. Here are the top shooters from the sophomore class this season.
Jake Green | Cherry Hill East
Green led the state in three-pointers made this season. He knocked down 102 three’s in his sophomore season. He will have two more years to add to that total. Green is a quick guard with a smooth stroke that he has mastered at a young age. Green hit eight three’s in a win over Woodrow Wilson early in the season. He has a chance to put up historic numbers from beyond the arc over the course of his career.
Maurice Odum Maurice Odum 6'1" | PG West Oaks | 2022 State FL | Union City
Odum led the state in scoring as a sophomore. He finished with 736 total points for an average of 27.3 per game. Odum got it done in every way this season including from deep. He knocked down 86 three’s this season. Odum was also able to get inside and finish with contact. He was elite at getting to the free throw line scoring 157 points from the charity stripe.
Yasir Fowler | Medford Tech
Fowler was used as a spot up shooter for Medford Tech this season. He was successful at his job with 82 three’s and hit six or more five times in 2019-2020. Fowler was not a big time scorer but he was an elite shooter. Fowler stands at 6’3 and has a chance to grow his game over the next two years. Fowler will turn into a complete player very soon.
Jamarques Lawrence | Plainfield
Plainfield was inconsistent this season but the shooting of Lawrence was the complete opposite. The sophomore knocked down 81 three’s and spread them out over every game. He hit three or more shots from deep in all but three games this season. His season-high came in a late season win over Union where he hit seven three’s on his way to 39 points.
Pat Murray | Koinonia
Murray was a big time scorer for Koinonia this season, not just from three. He was a slasher who could get to the rim or shoot from mid-range. As a deep ball threat, Murray hit 75 three’s and knocked down five or more in five of the last eight games Koinonia played. He set a season-high of eight three’s in an early season loss to Manville.
Bobby Beecher | Triton
Beecher has all the tools to be a star at Triton. He is 6’3 and can handle the ball on the perimeter. He is an elite shooter with a quick trigger that can fire from anywhere. In his sophomore season, Beecher turned into a legit threat and that will continue over the course of his career.
