Class of 2020 Rankings Update
The 2020 rankings have been officially updated with over 200 names in the new rankings. Over 50 players were added to these rankings while some prospects were moved off the rankings because they are doing a postgrad season and are part of the 2021 class. Giovanni Cessel Giovanni Cessel 6'9" | C Holy Cross Prep | 2021 State PA , Phil Brown Phil Brown 6'4" | SG Hudson Catholic | 2021 CT and Emmanuel Toha Emmanuel Toha 6'2" | PG Marist | 2020 State NJ are some of the players that have made that decision.
There is a new layer atop the rankings as recent Rutgers commit Cliff Omoruyi Cliff Omoruyi 6'11" | C Roselle Catholic | 2020 #56 Nation NJ is the new top player. The New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year was dominant for the Lions in states as he had consecutive triple-doubles against Marist and the Patrick School. Xavier commit CJ Wilcher CJ Wilcher 6'5" | SG Roselle Catholic | 2020 #95 Nation NJ joins Omoruyi in the top three after earning first team All-State honors for the Lions.
Virginia commit Jabri Abdur-Rahim Jabri Abdur-Rahim 6'6" | SF Blair Academy | 2020 #41 Nation NJ missed time due to injury for Blair, but the 2018-19 New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year has the second spot in the rankings. Kentucky commit Lance Ware Lance Ware 6'9" | PF Camden | 2020 #42 Nation NJ was named NJ.com’s after helping Camden go 29-1, claim the South Jersey Group 2 title and a top 20 national ranking. He climbed back into the top five, edging fellow first team All-State member Taj Thweatt Taj Thweatt 6'7" | PF Wildwood Catholic | 2020 State #180 Nation NJ .
Noah Farrakhan Noah Farrakhan 6'1" | PG The Patrick School | 2020 #159 Nation NJ rounds out the top five as the point guard led the Patrick School to the Union County Tournament title and the Non-Public B North semifinals. His consistency at the point for the Celtics was critical for a team that dealt with injuries and transfers throughout the season. Florida commit Niels Lane Niels Lane 6'5" | PG Roselle Catholic | 2020 State #72 Nation NJ was injured for most of the season, but came up huge for Roselle Catholic down the stretch.
RJ Weise RJ Weise 6'0" | SG State NJ is the highest newcomer to the list as he checks in at 47. The Colonial Valley Conference Player of the Year did it all for Allentown this season and will be at Rider as a preferred walk-on. Westampton Tech’s Tyrese Myrick Tyrese Myrick 6'2" | SG Westampton Tech | 2020 State NJ joins Weise as Group 3 stars who played their way into the top 60.
The 2020 class was unable to conclude their high school careers the way they wanted to, but they accomplished so much in their final varsity season.
