Rondel Walker Rondel Walker 6'2" | SG Putnam City West | 2020 State #120 Nation OK 2020 PC West Guard (Signed OSU)
Walker showed up and showed out on Friday and Saturday night. Oklahoma State is not only getting an excellent talent at the Guard spot but a great leader. Walker made sure and kept his teammates focused at the half in the Area Consolation game. Why is that so important to note? Putnam City West was trailing by double-digits at the time. West never looked back cutting the lead to single digits within the first couple of minutes in the second half. Walker ended up with 25 points on the night and so many clutch basketball plays. The game went to overtime from a late game-tying three-pointer from guess who? Walker. Oklahoma high school hoops fans will get to see Walker play one last weekend. You can bet Walker plans to play three-game too.
Daylon Andrews Daylon Andrews 5'10" | PG Pc West | 2021 State OK 2021 PC West Guard
Andrews is a Guard we are really starting to take strong note of in the Oklahoma 2021 Class. If you are an NCAA D2 or JUCO this is a prospect to know. Andrews is getting more confident with the ball in his hands to knock down big shots. When PC West needed big plays Andrews did a pretty good job of coming through the majority of time.
Sam Godwin Sam Godwin 6'9" | PF Southmoore | 2020 State #257 Nation OK 2020 Southmoore Post (Signed Wofford)
Godwin went on a tear this weekend making sure he did everything necessary on both ends of the floor to put his team in the State Tournament. The Southmoore Forward moves so well on the court it allows him to slash to the basket with ease on offense and block shots on defense when he appears to be out of the play. Godwin is an absolute steal for Wofford.
Jordan Thompson Jordan Thompson 5'11" | PG Southmoore | 2020 State OK 2020 Southmoore Point Guard
Thompson remains one of the top uncommitted college prospects in all of Oklahoma. At the Point, he gives Southmoore a calming influence with the rock in his hands. From behind the arc Thompson hit several key shots at big points in the game on Saturday night. Thompson has really improved a ton at getting the ball in his teammates hands at the perfect point for success. Don’t be shocked when Thompson has a stellar college career.
JV Seat 2022 Edmond Memorial Forward
After a tough half for Seat and the entire Edmond Memorial basketball team against Lawton on Friday Seat responded in a big way. Seat could not be stopped one bit in the paint in the second half scoring 24 points over half of his team’s points. When the ball got to Seat on the block he positioned himself well to get around taller shot blockers and used his quickness and sneaky strength to get buckets. I should also mention Seat was great at drawing contact. Last but not least I cannot write about Seat without mentioning just how much his three-point shooting has added to his game. Seat would easily be a top-five basketball pick to start your high school team in the state of Oklahoma regardless of class.
Dalante Shannon Dalante Shannon 6'2" | CG Edmond North | 2021 State OK 2021 Edmond North Guard
Shannon was up the challenge against PC West on Saturday night. This is really one of the first times Shannon had this much on the line as the clear leader of the Huskies. With all that being said I thought Shannon did a great job. Shannon guarded Rondel Walker Rondel Walker 6'2" | SG Putnam City West | 2020 State #120 Nation OK for a lot of the game and was willing to take on a great challenge. Shannon made Walker earn every point he got when he was guarding him. What was one of the most positive things about Shannon was the way he shot the basketball from mid-range and three-point range. As always Shannon used his quickness and athleticism to get to the rim well.
Landry Harris Landry Harris 5'11" | PG Edmond North | 2021 State OK 2021 Edmond North Point Guard
Harris isn’t the most athletic or the biggest at the Point. But do not tell him that. Harris was outstanding going head to head with bigger, taller, more athletic Guards at West. It did not stop him one bit. He finished on the night with a game-high point total for Edmond North of 18 points. The way Harris handled himself at the Point running the show handling the basketball against guys who if you read a book by its cover would dominate him was darn right impressive. Knowing Harris as I do over the years I was not surprised he rose the occasion but there are a lot of D2s in our state that does not know just how good Harris can be. A huge spring and summer are instore for Harris.
Jamel Graves 2022 Lawton Forward
Graves did not have his best weekend, really no one for Lawton did. However, the way he responded on Saturday was a major positive. Graves long term is going to be one of the top projected players in the 2022 Class. He has some ways to grow becoming stronger with the basketball around the basket and extending his way out towards the three-point line with his shot. Graves played big on defense at times and fell short at others. This is a prospect to keep your eye on in 2022.
