Mountain Vista – Reece Kelly Reece Kelly 6'2" | CG Mountain Vista | 2020 State CO
The senior leader is having a huge year from behind the arc, he is shooting lights out at 47% going (80/170) from deep. He ranks first on MaxPreps for made three-pointers in 5A play this year and his percentage ranks fifth but with far more attempts than others ahead of him. He is a shooter that can create on his own and moves well without the ball, he has great range as well and does not force many bad shots. He is averaging: 18.3 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 2.3 APG during his senior campaign and is a key reason why Mountain Vista is such threat. They have a tough matchup in the sweet sixteen against the number one seed and defending state champions Rangeview.
Ralston Valley – Caden Gigstad Caden Gigstad 6'1" | CG Ralston Valley | 2020 State CO
Caden is one of the senior leaders for Ralston Valley and he has had a strong year shooting the ball from deep. He is currently (69/190) for 36% from three-point range putting him at number seven in the state for most makes. He is a four year varsity player who has contributed ever since his freshmen season, in his career he is shooting 35% from behind the arc going (226/645) in his four years. He is also someone who can create his own shot off the dribble and has good court awareness, moving well without the ball finding the open spot. He is averaging 15.3 PPG, 3.9 APG, 2.7 RPG, 1.9 SPG on the season, connecting on almost three threes a game.
Chaparral – Kobe Sanders Kobe Sanders 5'11" | CG Chaparral | 2020 State #427 Nation CO
Sanders is having an outstanding senior season, averaging 20.2 PPG, 4.5 APG, 2.8 RPG, shooting 34% from behind the arc (69/201). He is another guard who has seen varsity time for four years and has been a major factor in their success over the years. In his career he is shooting 36% from distance (216/598) and 80% from the foul-line going (304/382). He can score from all three levels on the court and has deep range. He has strong handles and is able to great space on defenders off the dribble making him a tough matchup. He has had help in the backcourt this year which has allowed him to move without the ball more, coming off screens and reading his defender. He is eighth in 5A in three-point shooting on the year.
Grandview- Lian Ramiro
Ramiro is having his best season as a senior, putting up 15.5 PPG, 4.0 APG, 3.5 RPG, 1.4 SPG and is having his best shooting year from deep (67/148) on the year for 45%. His 148 attempts is by far the most he has had in a season which goes to show the work he has put in. He can create off the dribble, attacking with both hands and has a quick release on his jump shot and crafty around the rim. With Mcgill in the post it has been nice for Ramiro to stretch the defense with his range from three and make himself even more of a threat. Grandview will face-off against a Broomfield (21) team who knocked off Pine Creek (12) by one point in the second round.
Rangeview – Cade Palmer Cade Palmer 5'11" | CG Rangeview | 2021 State CO & Obi Agbim Obi Agbim 6'2" | CG Rangeview | 2020 State CO
Rangeview is the number one seed and a perfect 24-0 on the year with threats all over the floor and off the bench. Palmer and Agbim are the main threats from deep for them, Palmer a junior is shooting (63/140) on the year for 45% and Agbim is a senior who has improved his shooting and is second from three-point range going (42/93) for 45% as well. Palmer is a player who has seen varsity time since his freshmen year and is currently a 43% career three-point shooter going (132/308) in three years.
Denver East – Tom Connelly Tom Connelly 6'4" | SF Denver East | 2021 State CO & Boston Stanton Boston Stanton 6'4" | SG Denver East | 2021 State CO
Denver East is another team that has threats all over the floor, their shooters are both juniors in Connelly and Stanton who are both shooting it well from distance on the year. Connelly is (61/156) for 39% and leads the team in makes, Stanton is right behind him going (54/144) for 38% on the season. Connelly who has good size at 6’4 and saw action in twenty-four games as a sophomore for Denver East, shooting 42% from deep (43/102). Stanton is a guard that can score from all three levels, he is averaging: 20.9 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 2.8 APG on the year, his 20.9 points per game leads the team this year.
Eaglecrest – Ty Robinson Ty Robinson 6'5" | SF Eaglecrest | 2021 State CO & Skylar Wilson Skylar Wilson 6'7" | PF Colorado Prep | 2021 CO
The Raptors have several players who can knock down the long ball but juniors Robinson and Wilson are the two who lead the team in attempts this season. Robinson at 6’5 is (41/102) for 40% and Wilson who is 6’6 is shooting 36% going (41/113) on the season so far. Both players are able to rise up and get their shot off on smaller defenders and also have good handles for their size being able to shoot of the dribble as well. They both cause problems for teams, impacting the game in several different ways and their size and athleticism allows them to get to their spots whenever they want and score in different ways.
Boulder – Jimmy Starry Jimmy Starry 6'1" | CG Boulder | 2021 State CO
Starry is a junior for Boulder who is leading them in makes and attempts from distance this year, shooting (46/112) for 41%. He does the majority of his damage from behind the arc, moving without the ball and spotting up. He has had a strong year shooting the ball and should move more into a key role next year with several seniors on the team. He does not force a lot of bad shots and has good vision finding the open teammate when the shot isn’t there. He is averaging 8.8 PPG, 2.1 APG, 1.7 RPG on the season.
