Some of the state’s best in the class will be playing – here’s a look at some of the top players to watch.
Nick Stice (2020 Marist) – Gritty point guard that really attacks on the offensive side of the ball. Toughness makes up for lack of size at 5-foot-9. Can distribute as well as score and knows how to get around bigger players. Sky-Em Player of the Year and a candidate for 4A honors as well.
JJ Anderson JJ Anderson 6'0" | CG Marist | 2020 State OR (2020 Marist) – Hard-nosed 6-foot combo guard that projects as a “3 and D” player at the college level. Can knock down shots on the wing and really get after it defensively on opposing guard.
Sergio Jimenez Sergio Jimenez 6'2" | SF North Marion | 2020 State OR (2020 North Marion) – Well-built 6-foot-2 wing/forward that is near unstoppable when going to the hoop. Versatile player who is an underrated passer. Is looking at both basketball and football options for college. Tri-Valley POY two years running.
Ryan Hague Ryan Hague 6'2" | CG Seaside | 2020 State OR (2020 Seaside) – Tough 6-foot-2 wing who can really put the ball into the basket. Has taken on the leading role after being more of a supporting cast member on some title-winning teams.
Jacob Slifka Jacob Slifka 6'4" | SG Banks | 2020 State OR (2020 Banks) – Lanky 6-foot-4 wing that has a nice perimeter touch. Is especially good on pull-ups and in the mid-range. Also looking at football opportunities in college as a defensive back.
Jude Ashpole Jude Ashpole 6'4" | SF Gladstone | 2021 State OR (2021 Gladstone) – Strong 6-foot-4 wing with size on the wing. Has a soft touch from three-point range.
Michael Lundy Michael Lundy 6'1" | CG Philomath | 2021 OR (2021 Philomath) – Solid 6-foot-1 lead guard that can shoot as well as score.
Ty May (2023 Philomath) – Young post/wing prospect that stands at 6-foot-6. Has already grabbed the attention of club teams across the state.
