The debut of the 2023 North Carolina rankings begins with the Top 10 Overview. Here’s a look at the top prospects to keep an eye on after the high school season.
No. 1 Aden Holloway Aden Holloway 5'11" | PG Sussex Hamilton | 2023 #60 Nation CA-N – Covenant Day
Holloway had quite the debut season for the Lions in 2019-20 and debuts as the class of 2023 top prospect after putting up 18.0 ppg, 3.1 apg, 3.0 rpg and 1.6 spg. He’s a prospect that can score it with efficiency on all three levels at 5-foot-11 and should begin to turn heads over the next few months when things end with the quarantine. He holds an early Syracuse offer.
No. 2 Treymane Parker Treymane Parker 6'3" | CG OT Elite | 2023 #169 Nation GA – Cape Fear
Parker is a high-flying wing prospect that is uber-aggressive getting to the rim with the ball in his hands. He led the Colts in scoring in 2019-20 with 16.2 ppg while also snagging 6.5 rebounds and dishing 4.8 assists per game. He’s a terror on defense as well that averaged 3.0 steals per game. He’s a top prospect to keep an eye on at Cape Fear.
No. 3 Robert Dillingham Robert Dillingham 6'2" | CG Donda Academy | 2023 #9 Nation CA-S – Combine Academy
Dillingham is an emerging prospect to watch at Combine Academy with the ability to break down his defender and create from anywhere on the floor. He’s a combo guard that can get hot in a hurry on the perimeter and fill it up. He averaged 15.3 ppg, 5.3 apg, 3.5 rpg and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 41 percent from 3-point land in 2019-20.
No. 4 Isaiah Washington Isaiah Washington 6'5" | SG Winston-Salem Christian | 2024 State NC – Pine Forest
Washington is another athletic slasher that makes things happen on the wing. He’s a 6-foot-3 prospect with nice length that he uses well to finish at the rim and in the midrange. He produced 15.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.8 spg and 1.6 apg as a freshman at Pine Forest.
No. 5 Addison Archer Addison Archer 6'7" | PF Chase | 2023 State NC – Chase
Archer is a versatile prospect at 6-foot-7 that flies around on both ends making plays. He put up 16.8 ppg, 9.0 rpg and 1.0 bpg as a freshman for Chase High School. He’s a forward with a good motor and as he develops his all-around game, he’s one to keep an eye on this class.
No. 6 Ta’Korrie Faison Ta’Korrie Faison 6'7" | PF Goldsboro | 2023 State NC – Goldsboro
Faison was one of the biggest surprises this season for the Cougars as he made waves in the 2A State Playoffs. He’s a 6-foot-5 forward that plays big on both ends and looks to attack the rim with authority at every chance he gets. He’s got the potential to be very good in this class.
No. 7 Caleb Foster Caleb Foster 6'4" | CG Oak Hill Academy | 2023 #18 Nation VA – Hickory Ridge
Foster had a strong season in the backcourt alongside Jordan Marsh Jordan Marsh 5'10" | PG Moravian Prep | 2023 GA , another young stud in the 2022 class. He averaged 16.6 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 4.3 apg and 1.7 spg for the Ragin’ Bulls as they went 21-6 on the year and 12-2 in conference action. As he continues to improve his shooting from 3-point land, he’s a sharpshooter to watch in this class.
No. 8 Mekhi Grant Mekhi Grant 6'9" | C Word of God | 2023 State NC – Combine Academy
Grant is another big man prospect that finds himself in the Top 10. He’s a 6-foot-8 forward with tons of upside as a rim protector and rim runner in the Combine rotation. As he learns to make an impact on every play using his size and length, he’s another prospect from Combine Academy to keep an eye on.
No. 9 Trey Green Trey Green 5'10" | PG Link Academy | 2023 #69 Nation MO – Vance
Green is a 5-foot-9 guard with tons of ability already in the Cougars backcourt. He led the team in scoring this season (14.8 ppg) while also putting up 3.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game during his first season on varsity. He put together two 30+ point games and four 20+ point games as he’s just getting started at Vance.
No. 10 Callum Richard Callum Richard 6'11" | C Gaston Day | 2023 State NC – Gaston Day
Richard is a 6-foot-9 big man that’s just getting started at Gaston Day. He’s a wiry forward with nice mobility around the rim that he uses well to maneuver around the defense for points. As he learns to become a presence on the defensive end, he’ll be a paint protector to watch in this class.
