The HS season is over and we are diving into the individual player rankings for the Sophs. We start with the point guards.

There will probably be a lot of movement from now until the next HS season since many will train, play in big events, possibly get more exposure than their smaller schools to fully be evaluated versus some of the best in the West. 

 

Here we go:

-Scoring lead guard makes it look easy. He is a true three level scorer and is tough inside. His speed with the ball is on display in every game. 

2. Nathan CalmeseNathanCalmese6'1" | PGMesquite | 2022StateAZ (Mesquite)

-A smooth true PG understands how to change speeds at a high level. A good passer to make others better and he can score with anyone as well. 

3. Oakland FortOaklandFort5'9" | PGSunnyslope | 2022StateAZ (Sunnyslope)

-Uber athletic scoring PG can fly in the open court. A much improved shooter and his pull-up is clean.

4. Raydon ThorsonRaydonThorson5'11" | PGQueen Creek | 2022StateAZ (Queen Creek)

-Arguably the top passer in the AIA from the class. Has good speed and makes pin point passes. Scoring keeps improving. 

5. Ahamed MohamedAhamedMohamed5'10" | PGApollo | 2022StateAZ (Apollo)

-Top-tier shooter and on-ball defender. Has good speed, makes good decisions and has a strap. 

6. Miles NashMilesNash6'0" | PGBrophy Prep | 2022StateAZ (Brophy Prep)

-Pure PG makes others better. Tough defender and developing deep shooter.  

7. Lareon GinnisLareonGinnis5'9" | PGSouth Mountain | 2022StateAZ (South Mountain)

-A pure PG with break neck speed and a yo-yo handle. Downhill scorer and facilitator. 

8. Sidney WootenSidneyWooten6'1" | PGPhhoenix Prep | 2022StateAZ (Sunnyslope)

-Pure PG is very unselfish and can shoot it. Plays with a good pace and IQ.

-A fast paced scoring PG is one of the better passers not many know about. Deep range and high IQ.

-He proved he can handle the PG duties and score the ball. Big stock riser.  

3. Jalin HumphreyJalinHumphrey5'11" | PGChaparral | 2022StateAZ (Chaparral)

-Another scoring PG handles it with speed. Good scorer and quick defender. 

4. Orlando GonzalesOrlandoGonzales5'11" | PGPhhoenix Prep | 2022StateAZ (St. Mary’s)

-A scoring PG can shoot it from deep. A cerebral play-maker and passer. 

5. Pascal VolzPascalVolz6'0" | PGMcClintock | 2022StateAZ (McClintock)

-A shifty lead guard who can shoot it. Good feel for the game and will lead the Chargers next year.

-A smooth and fast ball handler who changes speeds. Good size and length and a very good passer.
