If I were attending grassroots events in NorCal, here is another group of 6’8- 6’9  power forwards and centers I would be taking a look at. This group of players were either on teams in lower divisions or weren’t the main focus on their high school varsity teams. They will be counted upon when the high school season begins.

Jack Cheng 6’9 Valley Christian, (San Jose CA)

A very big thick player that has strength and gets up and down the court at a good pace for a player his size. He’s a banger, and not afraid to mix it up inside. He needs to continue to work on footwork and explosion. Any improvement by him on the defensive end will take him and his team to another level. He can also be an effective scorer 15 ft and in.  His best days are ahead.

Kapral brings some intensity to his game. His long reach sometimes distracts shooters on the wings. He’s active inside, and doesn’t mind body contact, he does tend to pick up ticky tack fouls. He has a good outlet pass on the rebound, and he does hustle
