#1 Jeremy Roach Jeremy Roach 6'2" | PG Paul VI | 2020 State #19 Nation VA | 6’0” PG | Paul VI
Commitment: Duke
Roach has been the consensus number one prospect in VA since he was a freshman, and even a major knee injury his junior year didn’t stop the top programs in the country from recruiting him. He’s come back his senior year and looks like he hasn’t missed a beat with his explosion and ability to get wherever he wants off the bounce, and with the departure of Tre Jones he should have an opportunity to make an immediate impact at Duke next year.
#2 Cam Thomas Cam Thomas 6'4" | SG Oak Hill Academy | 2020 State #36 Nation VA | 6’4” WG | Oak Hill
Commitment: LSU
Thomas committed early in the season to LSU and he seems to fit in perfectly with what the Tigers need next year and what they’ve seen success with. Thomas is a natural scorer and one of the best in the country at filling it up, and Will Wade has had a lot of success with guards like him that maybe aren’t the most explosive but can just score it in many different ways.
#3 Henry Coleman Henry Coleman 6'8" | PF Trinity Episcopal | 2020 State #35 Nation VA | 6’8” PF | Trinity Episcopal
Commitment: Duke
Coleman has been one of the most productive players the last three seasons in the Richmond area, and he brings his high flying and bully style of play to a Duke team that has one of the top recruiting classes in the country. He isn’t the highest ranked kid going there by any means, but his high motor and big time work ethic should make a great impression on Coach K from day one.
#4 K.K. Robinson K.K. Robinson 6'1" | PG Oak Hill Academy | 2020 State #78 Nation VA | 6’1” PG | Oak Hill Academy
Commitment: Arkansas
Eric Musselman saw great success at Nevada over the past few years and despite an up and down first year there’s a lot of optimism surrounding the direction of the program. They have the #7 recruiting class in the country, and they have their PG of the future in a local guy in Robinson who will be able to help guys grasp the system and make others better while setting the tone on both ends of the floor.
#5 Jamari Sibley Jamari Sibley 6'8" | SF Oak Hill Academy | 2020 State #148 Nation VA | 6’8” WF | Oak Hill Academy
Commitment: Georgetown
While Sibley is raw and needs some work, he seems like a very good fit at Georgetown who needs depth on the wing.He has great physical and athletic tools that allow him to make plays that many others can’t, and he provides another guy that make shots off the catch and guard multiple positions as well.
#6 Joe Bamisile Joe Bamisile 6'4" | SG Monacan | 2020 State #74 Nation VA | 6’4” CG | Monacan
Commitment: Virginia Tech
Bamisile didn’t play this year to rest a leg injury that he suffered during the preseason, but he showed enough last year and over the summer to know how talented he is. The 6’4” guard is a guy who has very deep range off the catch, he got work off the bounce to get to create space and he’s long and bouncy enough to finish at the rim in traffic as well. If he brings it he should be able to compete for early time at VT.
#7 Darrius Maddox | 6’6” WG | Oak Hill Academy
Commitment: Virginia Tech
Maddox is another great get for Mike Young in his first full class as the head of the Hokies and he brings great versatility and a guy who can play well on both ends of the floor. He’s a guy who can play on or off the basketball, he makes shots from deep and he can rebound as well.
#8 Bradley Ezewiro Bradley Ezewiro 6'8" | C Oak Hill Academy | 2020 State #244 Nation VA | 6’9” C | Oak Hill Academy
Commitment: LSU
Ezewiro is a guy who came to Oak Hill from California and made a big impact with his size and athleticism in the paint for them. He seems to be a good fit at LSU who needs depth in the front court and he should be able to come in and be a blue collar guy for them immediately.
#9 Burke Smith Burke Smith 6'10" | PF Trinity Episcopal | 2020 State #240 Nation VA | 6’10” PF | Trinity Episcopal
Commitment: Boise State
Smith is likely the first player from Richmond to commit to Boise State and he chose them over about 20 other mid major programs. Smith is a guy who will bring the ability to stretch the floor and make decisions at the high post and the way he improved over his high school career bolds well for him moving forward.
#10 Darrick Jones Darrick Jones 6'5" | SF Oak Hill Academy | 2020 State #283 Nation VA | 6’4” WF | Oak Hill Academy
Commitment: Towson
Jones was a very highly touted recruit as a young player before some injuries derailed him, but Towson looks like they may have gotten a steal in this one. He’ll step on the floor and immediately be one of the most athletic kids in the CAA, and he has the ability to guard multiple positions and knock down open shots as well.
#13 Evan Johnson Evan Johnson 6'0" | CG Oak Hill Academy | 2020 State VA | 6’1” CG | Oak Hill Academy
Commitment: Georgia State
Johnson was one of the most under recruited kids in the state after some injuries this past summer held him out of some of the live periods. He’s a guy that Georgia State staff seems very excited about with his blend of athleticism and skill, and he’s a guy who can play on the ball and make plays or move off the ball with his exceptional shooting ability.
#15 Tymu Chenery Tymu Chenery 6'6" | SF Episcopal | 2020 State #337 Nation VA | 6’6” WF | Episcopal
Commitment: Quinnipiac
The Philly native is heading to Quinnipiac where he’ll play for former Villanova assistant Baker Dunleavy and he’s a guy whose physical and athletic tools are ready for the next level now. He’s a two way guy that can score from multiple levels, rebound and defend and still has room to get better as well.
#16 Andre Screen Andre Screen 6'11" | C St. Stephen's-St. Agnes | 2020 State #339 Nation VA | 6’11” C | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
Commitment: Bucknell
Screen seems like the perfect fit for a Patriot League school as he has size you can’t teach, he’s an absolute bucket on the low block and he makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. The slow style of play will fit him well and he shouldn’t have to worry about getting overmatched athletically in the league.
#17 Noel Brown Noel Brown 6'10" | C Flint Hill | 2020 State #360 Nation VA | 6’10” C | Flint Hill
Commitment: George Washington
Brown is a guy that has showed rapid improvement over the past few years and he gives GW a big man that can come in and provide energy early. The 6’10” big is a rim protector and rim runner who can dominate on the glass on both ends, finishes many plays above the rim and will provide much needed size for second year Head Coach Jamion Christian.
#19 Xavier Lipscomb Xavier Lipscomb 6'3" | PG St. Stephen's-St. Agnes | 2020 State #449 Nation VA | 6’3” PG | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
Commitment: Radford
The SSSAS floor general has been the heart and soul of the program over the past few years and his decision looks even better now with the news that Big South Player of the Year Carlik Jones has entered the transfer portal. His intelligence and leadership on both ends of the floor will make him a candidate to play, if not start, early and even if he doesn’t put up big scoring numbers he’ll be able to defend and run the team early.
#20 James Berry III James Berry III 6'3" | SG Bishop Ireton | 2020 State #488 Nation VA | 6’3” WG | Bishop Ireton
Commitment: Merrimack
Berry chose Merrimack right after they decided to make the jump to a division one program and while that was somewhat questionable at the time it looks like a very smart decision after they won 14-4 in the NEC last year. The 6’3” wing brings a blend of size athleticism and some shot making ability to them and he was one of the most under the radar guys in the NOVA area over the past few years.
#25 Jared Cross Jared Cross 6'2" | SG St. Stephen's St. Agnes | 2020 State VA | 6’4” WF | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
Commitment: Army
Cross has been one of the best players for SSSAS over the past few years and he’ll have a chance to make an immediate impact in the Patriot League. He has the size to step in day one and make an impact, he can make shots at a high clip and he has a great IQ on both ends of the floor.
#44 Gill Williamson Gill Williamson 6'8" | PF St. Christopher's | 2020 State VA | 6’9” C | St. Chris
Commitment: Virginia Tech (PWO)
Williamson is the highest riser in this class and one of the most improved players over time as he’s sprouted to 6’9”, grown into his body and become more athletic and improved in a number of ways on both ends. He accepted a preferred walk-on position at Virginia Tech and should bring a big body that understands the game and will push others.
