Jordan Battle Jordan Battle 6'3" | CG Norfolk Collegiate | 2020 State VA | 6’3” G | Norfolk Collegiate
Previous Rank: 21
Current Rank: 12
Battle jumps to the top 15 after being one of the top guards in the state and helping Norfolk Collegiate to the championship game of the VISAA D2 classification before losing to Blue Ridge. The 6’3” guard is extremely versatile and does a little bit of everything for his team as he can score from multiple levels, rebound at a high rate and makes terrific decisions with the ball in his hands. He’s arguably the most under recruited guy in the state if not the east coast.
Chaunce Jenkins Chaunce Jenkins 6'3" | SG Menchville | 2020 State VA | 6’4” WG | Menchville
Previous Rank: 31
Current Rank: 18
Jenkins came on the last couple of years and projects well to the division one level moving forward with his blend of size, athleticism and budding skill set. His improvement rate over the past few years bolds well for him moving forward as his best basketball is likely ahead of him, he plays with a good motor on both ends and he should transition well to the next level with his frame as well. He picked up a recent offer from Wichita State.
Gill Williamson Gill Williamson 6'8" | PF St. Christopher's | 2020 State VA | 6’9” PF | St. Chris
Previous Rank: 103
Current Rank:44
The improvement for Williamson from his sophomore year to now is something that no one could have predicted. He’s a guy who seems to get taller every time I see him and stands at a legit 6’9”, he runs the floor and transitions from offense to defense and vice versa very easily and he’s a big time athlete that can play above the rim and finish through traffic. He accepted a preferred walk on position to attend Virginia Tech next year.
Jahme Ested Jahme Ested 6'2" | PG Henrico | 2020 State VA | 6’1” PG | Henrico
Previous Rank: 67
Current Rank: 49
The Class 5 Region B player of the year was a huge reason that Henrico was able to get back to the state tournament, and he improved in all of the areas that he needed to, mainly in his ability to make shots from deep. He’s a guy that gets after it on both ends and comes at you every play, he lives in the lane with his ability to get by guys off the bounce and he’s great at pressing the issue and finding a way to the free throw line when in traffic.
Justin Fatherly Justin Fatherly 6'4" | CG Nansemond River | 2020 State VA | 6’2” WG | Nansemond River
Previous Rank: 66
Current Rank: 52
Another guy who is known for coming at you over and over again, Fatherly finished the season with the highest points per game average in the 757 at 27 points per game. The 6’2” wing is a guy who can play on or off the basketball, he gets downhill well and can make shots from multiple levels at an efficient rate, as he shot 47% from the field on the season. He’s a guy that’s a no brainer scholarship player moving forward.
Jahn Hines Jahn Hines 6'4" | SF Norview | 2020 State VA | 6’3” F | Norview
Previous Rank: 89
Current Rank: 61
Hines was one of the most consistent players in the 757, helping Norview to a Class 5 State Championship and doing so while playing all over the floor for them. He often was the tallest guy on the floor for their guard oriented team but he provided a walking mismatch with his ability to shoot the ball from all over and he battled with guys much bigger than him all year, getting the best of many of them throughout the year.
Zy’Ever Wingfield Zy’Ever Wingfield 6'3" | SF Henrico | 2020 State VA | 6’3” WF | Henrico
Previous Rank: 110
Current Rank: 85
Wingfield is a guy who has steadily rose up our rankings over the past two seasons, and his athleticism and length brought Henrico a two way energy guy who made highlight plays all year. He may only be 6’3” but he’s extremely long, he takes pride in guarding the other teams best player and he’s a guy who will bring you out of your seat when he gets downhill or out in transition with big time slams. He’ll be heading to Fork Union for a post grad year next year.
Azaiyah Roberts Azaiyah Roberts 6'5" | PF Princess Anne | 2020 State VA | 6’5” PF | Princess Anne
Previous Rank: 123
Current Rank: 99
A two sport star who also shines on the football field as a quarterback, Roberts brought that football mentality to the basketball court this season as he bullied guys in the post and held down the paint for a surprise PA team all year. Not only did he do well in the paint, he also showed great versatility as a mismatch guy who can step out and score it from the perimeter and in the midrange and was a double-double machine for them all year.
Calvin Thomas Calvin Thomas 6'5" | PF Tallwood | 2020 State VA | 6’6” PF | Oscar Smith
Previous Rank: 115
Current Rank: 100
Thomas came up big throughout the season with other big man Karl Chavis Karl Chavis 6'5" | PF Oscar Smith | 2020 State VA hurt, and he has a host of D2 offers to show for his play this year. He’s a big guy with good strength that allows him to battle in the post and muscle his way to buckets, but he also has good touch out to the midrange and can make shots from the high post as well.
