2020 Nebraska Prospect Rankings Update
The high school basketball season has come to a close in Nebraska. With that being said, it is a great time to update the prospect rankings, starting with the Senior Class. The 2020 class is loaded with next level talent across the board from Class A to Class D2. We want to rank as many players as possible and chose to keep the list at 100 prospects. Here is a brief look of the top 5 prospects in the 2020 Class. Keep an eye out for more articles about prospects from the 2020 class in the coming days, as well as updates for the 2021 and 2022 classes, and the first rankings for the class of 2023.
1. Donovan Williams Donovan Williams 6'5" | SG Lincoln North Star | 2020 State #156 Nation NE
After returning from injury in January, Donovan finished the season averaging 28.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. The 6’5 guard can score from everywhere. He has deep range, can create for himself with the dribble, attack the rim, and finish through shot blockers. Williams has narrowed his focus to 6 schools; Kansas State, Villanova, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, and Kansas.
2. Max Murrell Max Murrell 6'9" | PF Millard North | 2020 State #80 Nation NE
Murrell is an agile 6’9 post that moves well, gets up and down the court, blocks shots, and can finish above the rim. He can also stretch the floor with great touch from the three point line. Max averaged 9.2 points and 3.4 blocks per game in his senior season and will be headed to play at Stanford University next year.
3. Latrell Wrightsell Jr Latrell Wrightsell Jr 6'1" | CG Omaha Central | 2020 State NE .
Wrightsell is an impact player on both ends of the floor. He can get to the rim anytime he wants offensively and is a lockdown defender. He averaged 23.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.4 steals per game during his senior season. Wrightsell hasn’t made a college commitment yet, but holds many division one offers; including Cal State Fullerton, South Dakota, Bradley, and Purdue Fort Wayne.
4. Jadin Booth Jadin Booth 6'2" | SG Omaha Westside | 2020 State #453 Nation NE
Booth had an excellent finale to a memorable career at Omaha Westside, where he holds the record as the all time leading scorer. He averaged 21.8 points and 3 assists per game in his senior season. Jadin is a creative scorer and knockdown shooter with deep range. He will be staying in the state to play at the University of Nebraska at Omaha next season.
5. Wal Chuol Wal Chuol 6'4" | SG Omaha North | 2020 State NE
Chuol is a great athlete with next level size and ball skill. He can size up defenders and create space with the dribble to get to the basket or pull up and knock down jump shots. The 6’4 wing can elevate at the rim to hammer home powerful dunks or adjust his shot midair to finish acrobatic layups. Chuol averaged 19.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game his senior season.
