Here’s a look at 10 prospects who will be impacted the shutdown and players who programs should flock to when it’s time to resume action…
Grant Asman Grant Asman 6'11" | PF Kimberly | 2021 State WI – 2021 – F – Pack Attack
Playing on a loaded Kimberly squad, Asman still hasn’t been able to bust out just yet, but when schools are able to watch him play in an AAU setting, he could really see his recruitment take off. Case and point, Asman earned a scholarship offer from Michigan Tech at the Prep Hoops Top250 Showcase. The 6-foot-9 forward is still just scratching the surface. A lanky, versatile prospect, Asman can handle the ball and create on the perimeter or in transition.
Leon Bond Leon Bond 6'5" | SF Wauwatosa East | 2022 State #62 Nation WI – 2022 – F – JH1 Elite
Bond was going to be one of the faces of the Prep Hoops Circuit this spring. An explosive combo forward and human highlight film, Bond is oozing with potential. There are a handful of mid-major programs starting to get serious about the Wauwatosa East product already. He’s still raw from a skill standpoint, but has the intangibles and physical attributes that college programs will love.
Grant Flory Grant Flory 6'5" | PF Wisconsin Rapids | 2021 State WI – 2021 – F – Team 1848
Flory came back from injury and had a monster junior season, posting more than 24 points per game and was an honorable mention All-State pick. A skilled, versatile forward with a strong build and a soft touch, Flory is a mismatch problem at 6-foot-5. He’s one of the players we’re most interested to see this summer.
Jordan Johnson Jordan Johnson 6'2" | CG Elkhorn | 2021 State WI – 2021 – G – Wisconsin Swing -Bredesen
Division 2 schools don’t have the same evaluation rules as Division 1 programs, so Johnson might be alright when all is said and done, but the Elkhorn product could really emerge as a high priority target. Johnson had a big year for the Elks and possesses some very intriguing explosiveness on the ball. Able to play point or shooting guard, Johnson is a terrific shot creator who can not only knock down difficult shots off the bounce, but loves to deliver contact at the rim.
Cade Meyer Cade Meyer 6'8" | PF Monroe | 2021 State #237 Nation WI – 2021 – F – Wisconsin Playground Club
Meyer does hold a couple of Division 1 offers from UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee, and Valparaiso, but this was a big spring for him to potentially earn high major offers. Iowa State, Marquette, and Wisconsin were expected to watch the 6-foot-8 forward closely and more would have likely started to take notice. An athletic forward, who’s skill set continues to improve, Meyer is also high jump champion in track and field. Needless to say there’s a ton to like here and Meyer could be a potential steal for a lower-level power-five program late as his upside remains very, very high.
James Graham James Graham 6'9" | SF Nicolet | 2021 #59 Nation WI – 2021 – SF – Wisconsin Playground Club
A guy that was really starting to come into his own as a monster scorer, Graham just wrapped up a big junior season. A 6-foot-8 wing who can shoot the rock from all over the floor and create mismatch problems, Graham has top three potential in Wisconsin’s 2021 class. This was a big spring for Graham, because he missed all of the previous AAU season due to injury. Graham picked up early offers from Rutgers, DePaul, and UW-Milwaukee. Given his skillset, you could see Graham have a run of high major offers if he consistently performs to his capabilities.
Tyrese Hunter Tyrese Hunter 5'11" | PG Racine St. Catherine's | 2021 State #63 Nation WI – 2021 – G – Phenom University
Hunter had a chance to expand his offer list this spring. Texas A&M, Marquette, and Minnesota are the high major programs currently on board. An athletic, up-and-down guard who can get coast-to-coast, Hunter has been working his way into the top 100 of a lot of national rankings. It will be interesting to see if Hunter can regain momentum if we’re back in action this summer.
Logan Landers Logan Landers 6'9" | PF Cedarburg | 2021 State WI – 2021 – F – Phenom University
An emerging big man that schools really don’t know about yet, Landers could end up being a top 6-7 prospect in Wisconsin’s 2021 class. A skilled, versatile forward with a lot of dawg in him, Landers has a smooth 3-point game, can play strong with his back to the basket, and control the rim on the defensive end. Landers has no offers yet, but UC-Davis, Liberty, William & Mary, and UW-Milwaukee were some of the schools expected to evaluate him.
Brandin Podziemski Brandin Podziemski 6'6" | SG Saint John's Northwestern Academy | 2021 State #232 Nation WI – 2021 – SG – Phenom University
Podziemski was emerging on Division 1 radars and someone that was likely going to make a name for himself. One of the top players on the Prep Hoops Circuit last summer, Podziemski is taking his talents to the Nike EYBL. A pure scorer with an excellent feel for the game, Podziemski is attracting the likes of DePaul, Michigan, Minnesota, Southern Illinois, Columbia, UW-Milwaukee, Lehigh, Montana State, Liberty, Princeton, and others.
Seth Trimble Seth Trimble 6'3" | PG Menomonee Falls | 2022 State #50 Nation WI – 2022 – PG – Phenom University
UW-Milwaukee was the first school to offer Trimble this season. Based on his performance with Menomonee Falls, he’s not close to being done yet. A highly athletic floor general, Trimble possesses unique leaping ability and explosiveness around the rim for a 5-foot-10 guard. He’s also a pure point guard who can dictate the flow of the game, make others better, and take over as a scorer when needed.
