Majeed Leaning Towards Prep School
Beloit Turner 2020 point guard Jordan Majeed is one of the state’s most exciting players. A highly skilled shot creator, Majeed has the capability of putting up big numbers.
Majeed said that he was receiving attention from UW-Milwaukee and Northern Michigan. However, Majeed plans to play AAU in the spring with the Illinois Stars. From there, he has a workout scheduled with Hillcrest Prep in April and is leaning towards the prep school route and becoming a class of 2021 prospect, unless intriguing options at the college level comes his way.
Newhouse’s Recruitment Remains Quiet
Kaukauna 2020 forward Jacob Newhouse had a good performance at Saturday’s Border Battle. The senior tallied 25 points, including a big second half against a strong Mahtomedi (MN) squad.
Newhouse is averaging 15.9 points per game for the Ghosts, who have at least three other college prospects on the roster. The 6-foot-6 forward is a sweet-shooting big man who can do plenty of damage in the pick n’ roll or pick and pop game.
As of now, Minnesota State-Moorehead is the lone program expressing interest, according to Newhouse. This feels like a great opportunity for Division 3 programs to swoop in and they should be all over this prospect.
Hefle Hearing From Numerous D3’s
Germantown 2020 point guard Jacob Hefle is still on the market. The senior guard said Western Washington, Wisconsin Lutheran, MSOE, Dominican, Beloit, Ripon, Lakeland and others were all in on him this winter.
Hefle is averaging 11.7 points and 4.0 assists per game this season. A skilled, high-IQ floor general that makes the right basketball play, Hefle is shooting 49.6 percent from the floor this season and has a near 4:1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Dilling Picks up D2 Offer
Josh Dilling is one of the most underrated players in the Fox Valley Association, if not the state. The Oshkosh North is averaging 17.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game this season.
Dilling said he’s picked up a scholarship offer from Division 2 William Jewel. He also listed Quincy, Hillsdale, and the University of Indianapolis as schools showing interest at this time.
A crafty scorer and facilitator, Dilling has the ability to play on or off the ball.
Schaefer Has Two Offers
Although he’s a pretty good football prospect, Sun Prairie 2020 guard Colin Schaefer said he plans on playing basketball in college.
Right now, Schaefer is mulling offers from Northern Michigan and Highland Community College. Schaefer also said Division 2 Quincy is showing interest this season.
Schaefer is having a terrific season, leading the Cardinals to a 12-2 record thus far. The senior guard is averaging 18.0 points per game.
