Patrick Mahomes is now a Super Bowl champion and MVP. But it wasn’t easy. Super Bowl LIV came down to the wire, because Mahomes refused to let his team fold. The Chiefs were forced to chip away at a double digit deficit late in the game. Mahomes then took over and led his team to a 21-0 4th quarter and a 31-20 Super Bowl LIV victory.

Mahomes never say die approach to the game was impressive to say the least. He believed in himself and his teammates, and the world knew, he could lead them back.

There is a lot of basketball talent in Michigan. The question is:  Who can pull a Mahomes? What basketball player has the skill and fortitude to do what Mahomes did last night? Well, here’s some likely candidates.

Scooby Johnson (2020, SF, Benton Harbor)

Johnson is a champion. Champions do whatever it takes to win, and that’s Scooby in a nutshell. He influences a game in every way, from a pretty pass to fighting out a rebound in the paint. Johnson knows that it’s the little things that get W’s.
