Northwood can be good defensively! They got after it on the defensive end of the floor from the beginning, using different schemes to force turnovers and get out into transition. The Eagles will this type of defensive effort as they go deeper in the playoffs against some teams that are loaded offensively!
Sophomore Guard Jaquantae Harris is a D1 prospect! Harris started off the season slowly and it took some time to find his way but he has been outstanding in the 2nd half of the season. He displayed a quick first step as well as the ability to knock down shots from mid and three point range with consistency leading all scorers with 24 Points.
Neuse Christian Senior Guard Kurtis Taylor is a prospect: The majority of the teams offense came from him as he was responsible for almost 50% of the teams scoring. Where he excelled the most was showing his ability to slash to the basket and score or draw fouls to get to the free throw line.
Reggie Raynor is an athlete! The UNCG signee didn’t waste much time at all getting the job done as he threw down a monster dunk as soon as the game began. He plays with a very high motor and is constantly active making plays on both ends of the court.
Neuse Christian Freshman Guard Jakel Powell has a chance to be good! He didn’t have much of an impact on the game scoring wise but we got to see him make plays for others and get after it on the defense end. Anytime that you have a young player picking up major minuets in state playoff games, it’s only going to be a positive for them in the future due to getting that early on court experience.
