He’s signed to continue his basketball career next year at Eastern Kentucky University.
Before he sets up fort at Eastern Kentucky, Green Jr. has business to tend to in La Porte, Indiana. That business is helping his La Lumiere squad compete for a national championship. Green Jr. has been key in helping La Lumiere rise from unranked, to its current #5 in the country ranking by ESPN. The selections for Geico Nationals in New York are coming soon and they are a virtual lock to be in the field.
C/O ESPNGreen Jr. has been an incredible leader and contributor for La Lumiere. He currently holds a 52-4 record in his 2 seasons at the school. This year, Green Jr. is setting the scoring pace for La Lumiere, averaging 21 ppg. He’s also averaging 5.5 apg and 3.1 spg.
Green Jr.’s play and numbers are only getting better as the season carries on. Over the last 8 games, he’s averaging over 30 points a game. This includes an epic performance on senior night in front of over 60 family members and friends that made the trip. That night Green Jr. dropped in 37 points in dominating fashion.
Wendell Green Jr. has piled up the awards and notoriety with La Lumiere this season. He was named the MVP of the HoopHall Classic Game in Massachusetts when his team squared off with Gonzaga Prep. Green Jr. was also the Most Outstanding Player at the Bob Kirk Classic in Maryland. He was a McDonald’s All-American Game Nominee and has been invited to play in several post season All-Star games across the country.
But first thing is first for Wendell Green Jr.: A trip to New York City and a national championship. Don’t be surprised if he’s hoisting the trophy at Geico Nationals, because like I said before, he’s a winner and a champion.
