The score was tied at 12 after one quarter before Old Bridge created a little separation in the second quarter. They outscored East Brunswick 17-10 to grab a seven-point lead heading into halftime. They maintained their lead until the fourth quarter where East Brunswick did their best to make a run. They came up just short in their comeback attempt. Lucas Grissett (2021) | Old Bridge
Grissett was the player to take over the game at the end for Old Bridge. He scored a game-high 17 points and knocked down eight free throws including some key ones at the end. Grissett hit a three in this game and did some work inside as well. He led Old Bridge to this victory that snapped a seven-game losing streak.
Jalen Pichardo (2023) | East Brunswick
Pichardo has really stepped up for East Brunswick this season. He is just a freshman and has turned into one of their top options. He scored a season-high 22 points in a win over Monroe. In this one, Pichardo finished with 12 points. He is an intimidating force on the inside who can score and rebound the ball effectively.
Ryan De la Cuesta (2020) | Old Bridge
De la Cuesta began the season with five double-digit scoring games out of the first six including a season-high 20 points in a loss to Perth Amboy. De la Cuesta finished with 10 points in the win over East Brunswick. He showed the ability to step out and shoot as he knocked down two three’s. He also was able to drive inside and finish. De la Cuesta is a shifty guard who is always a threat when on the floor.
Devin Kennedy (2020) | East Brunswick
Kennedy has been one of the main reasons that East Brunswick has nine wins this season. He has heated up over the past month of the season. He finished with eight points against Old Bridge which was a rare performance in single-digits. Kennedy did all of his work from inside the arc and on the boards. He is an effective forward down low who can score and defend at a high rate.
Jaden Caban (2020) | Old Bridge
Caban is another big man who can get it done on the inside. There was plenty of them in this game. Caban scored all nine of his points on the inside including a three-point play that he finished from the free throw line. Old Bridge has had a tough season but they have some players that can get it done on both ends of the floor. Caban is one of those intriguing players to watch moving forward.
