Jaden Schutt (Yorkville Christian)
Current Ranking: #6
What a season this sophomore has had for one of the highest scoring teams in the state. Schutt has size for position along with plus athleticism. Crisp movements both with and without the ball. He is a big time shooter from three and we also like his pull up game as he can stop and pop on a dime. Gets elevation off the floor and knocks them down at an extremely high clip. Gets out in transition and shows a burst on his first step.
Braxton Stacker (Belleville East)
Current Ranking: #10
Stacker stands at 6’4” with a wiry build. Elite level athlete that has some of the best hops in the state. He shows them off with a thunderous jam on a ferocious slashes. At this stage the majority of his game offensively is in transition or one on one to the rim. Impressed with his tight handles being able to put combination moves together to get scores. His explosion and burst with the ball in his hand are super impressive out of a young prospect. Jump shot is a bit streaky, but he has solid mechanics and shoots with confidence. He is aggressive defensively moving his feet, using his length to get in his opponents space, and recovers well.
Tye Banks (Springfield Lanphier)
Current Ranking: #12
Banks is among the top prospects in central Illinois regardless of class. He consistently gets in the lane and scores buckets finishing through contact. Burst with the ball in his hands. Powerful guard with a solid all-around skill level. Next star guard for Lanphier with his skilled scoring game.
Kam Craft (Buffalo Grove)
Current Ranking: #13
Craft is one of the more intriguing wings in the 2022 class. He has a low release point on his jumper and it looks a little funky at times, but he hits them at a high clip. Is most effective driving off the bounce. Gets to the cup where he finishes with creativity. Scores on a euro step and several other quick moves from the perimeter.
Nick Harrell (Brother Rice)
Current Ranking: #19
Harrell is a long and rangy sophomore wing that has a ton of upside long term. Highly efficient with his touches getting points as a finisher in the open floor along with converting dump off passes and getting on the offensive glass for put backs. Like his long term potential defensively with his length and athleticism.
Kanye Smith (Whitney Young)
Current Ranking: #20
I think what you have to like about Smith the most is what he can be down the road. At 6’5” he has tremendous length and broad shoulders to add strength moving forward. Long and rangy build. Explosive handles when attacking off the dribble. Super bouncy kid that explodes at the rim. Long term play.
Bobby Durkin (Hinsdale South)
Current Ranking: #21
Durkin broke out with the ET21 Buckeyes this spring! The 6’2” shooting guard proved to be a high level scorer with his ability to knock down shots from literally anywhere on the floor. He drills mid-range pull ups like they are going out of style. Also was a quality spot up shooter from three. Good passing feel.
Darius Duff (Lake Forest Academy)
Current Ranking: #22
Duff is a combo guard who has been our radar since last year. The 6’3” junior is a plus athlete that is most comfortable scoring it. Mid-range game is his strength and can get to the cup on occasion.
Xavier Lewis (TF South)
Current Ranking: #24
Lewis has size at 6’5” with broad shoulders and a solid build. Flashes athleticism around the hoop and even a little shooting touch from the outside. Still a work in progress, but has potential.
Timaris Brown (St. Patrick)
Current Ranking: #25
Brown stands at 6’5” and this sophomore has come to play each time we have seen him this season. Physical body for a young forward. Plays with toughness in the paint finishing around the hoop with dump off passes and drills 15 foot jumpers. The lefty showed off an improved shooting stroke early in the season.
