However, this list will attempt to do just that. Through four parts, this list will rank the 25 best wings and off ball perimeters players in the Metro.
Honorable mentions: David Moreano, Jamarius Adams, Hershal Vuksich
25. Tethloach Tut – 6’5 – Class of 2020 (3.5 ppg)
Tut is a defender that can aggravate ball handlers and get deflections. He plays at the top of Omaha Central full court press and can use his length to force turnovers in traps that turn into easy layups for his teammates. Central’s rotation is deep; but in less than 16 minutes per game, he is averaging 2.8 rebounds and just under a block and a steal. Tut’s offensive game is still raw, but he can affect the game with his defense and energy.
24. Zach Olson – 6’6 – Class of 2020 (6.7 ppg)
Olson is a long shooter that has some ball handling ability. He has attempted over twice as many three points shots this season as he has two point shots, but is converting on his three point shots at 35%. Olson is headed to Morningside College next year where he should continue to stretch the floor and knock down jumpers.
23. Jay Dawson – 6’3 – Class of 2022 (5.8 ppg)
Dawson is a good ball handler that could play either guard spot, but has spent much of his time off the ball this season with Omaha Central. Defensively, he can moves well, contests shots, and is averaging 1.4 steals per game. Offensively, Dawson has a nice jump shot and is aggressive looking to score from all three levels.
22. Mai’jhe Wiley – 6’3 – Class of 2021 (7.7 ppg)
Wiley is an off-ball guard that does a little of everything. He knocks down a third of his three point attempts and can finish at the rim. He can be a secondary ball handler and gets downhill in transition. Wiley has size and agility to guard and play multiple positions.
21. PJ Davis – 6’3 – Class of 2022 (6.3 ppg)
Davis is an athletic lefty wing that runs the floor and competes defensively. He looks to attack the rim on offense and finishes 60% on two point shots. He takes less than 2 threes per game, but has made 37% on the season. Davis is on a senior heavy Omaha Central team this year, but his numbers should explode once he is getting more than 5 shots per game.
20. Noah Erickson – 6’6 – Class of 2020 (4.3 ppg)
Erickson has had an incredibly efficient season. In limited minutes off the bench for a stacked Millard North team, Noah is able to bring down 3.2 rebounds per game. He is also shooting 60% from the floor. Erickson is always looking to hammer home dunks in transition and off straight line drives. He will continue his basketball career at Wayne State College next season.
