7. Evan Meyersick – 6’5 – Class of 2021 (11.2 ppg)
Meyersick is a versatile and agile forward. He gets up and down the court and can consistently beat bigger matchups back in transition for easy baskets. Defensively, he rotates well from the back side to stop drives, contest shots, and take charges. Meyersick is efficient and can do a little bit of everything on the offensive end.
6. Ater Louis – 6’7 – Class of 2021 (10.0 ppg)
Louis is an skilled traditional post and rim protector. He is averaging 2.3 blocks per game and is great at staying vertical to contest shots at the rim without fouling. Louis is extremely long and has good hands to catch lobs and high entry passes. He is averaging 6.6 rebounds per game, and can get up and snatch rebounds near or above the rim. Louis understands how to use his body to seal defenders and can finish with soft touch around the rim.
5. John Shanklin – 6’8 – Class of 2020 (11.0 ppg)
Shanklin is a hardworking athlete that rebounds, plays defense, and finishes at a high rate. The Senior big man is springy and can get up quickly to finish at the rim, blocks shots, or snag rebounds. He is averaging 6.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game this season. John moves well for a big and can navigate ball screens on both ends of the floor. Shanklin will be continuing his basketball career at Black Hill State University next year.
4. AJ Rollins – 6’5 – Class of 2021 (11.7 ppg)
Rollins is another talented football player on this list holding it down on the hardwood. At his forward position, he is physical and out muscles and hustles opponents for positioning and for his 6.1 rebounds per game. He sets hard ball screens, can get to his spots on offense, and elevates near the rim to finish through contact. Rollins will have plenty of interest if he decides to continue his basketball career.
3. Danair Dempsey – 6’6 – Class of 2021 (12.9 ppg)
Dempsey is a great two way forward that can score from anywhere on the court. He has a quick first step to blow by defenders and can elevate to finish at the rim. If given space, he can knock down three point shots which his has done at 43% this season. He gets up and down the court looking to finish in transition and chase down streaking opponents. Defensively, he can guard multiple positions and he blocks 1.7 shots per game. Dempsey skill and size make him one of the most difficult matchups in the metro.
2. Jasen Green – 6’6 – Class of 2022 (11.1 ppg)
Green is considered by many to be the best player in the sophomore class. The versatile forward can play inside and out. He shoots well from three point range, can put the ball of the floor and create for himself, and has good footwork and touch to score on the interior. With so much height on the Millard North roster, Jasen has to fight teammates for his 4.4 rebounds per game. He seems most comfortable faced up to the hoop and making plays from the perimeter. Green creates a mismatch at either forward position.
1. Max Murrell – 6’9 – Class of 2020 (9.3 ppg)
Murrell is the best post player in the Metro Conference and in the state of Nebraska. The Senior Stanford commit is exceptional at protecting the rim and earning extra possessions for his team, averaging 3.9 block, 1.7 steals, and 5 rebounds per game. Murrell doesn’t get many touches on the block, but he is a great athlete that works hard to hammer home dunks in transition and rolling to the rim. He can also space the floor and knock down three point shots if given space. There is not another post player in the Metro Conference that impacts the game as much as Murrell.
