The Prospects:
Bryce Thompson 2020 Booker T Washington Guard
Thompson was the difference maker in this game. He struggled to find his rhythm in the first quarter which helped Jenks jump out to an early lead, but the Jenks crowd made him mad and that was probably the biggest mistake all night. Thompson came out in the second quarter and took the game over. He was tearing it up on the court. He shot the ball well whether he was contested or not. He scored 12 points in the second quarter and also ramped up the effort on the defensive end of the court. Thompson’s dominant performance was the reason the Hornets were able to win this game. He finished the game with 30 points.
Trey Phipps 2020 Booker T Washington Guard
Phipps was not the dominant shooting threat that he normally is. He was heavily guarded and forced to contribute in other ways. He played aggressive defense and found ways to create turnovers. Phipps did the dirty work on the court getting rebounds and forcing turnovers. He played hard and drew a lot of attention to open up his teammates. He finished the night with 10 points.
Jalen Breath 2020 Booker T Washington Post
Breath was a beast down low. No body on the floor had the size that he had and it was obvious. When Booker T Washington could get him the ball down low he could find ways to score. He was also a threat on the defensive end. His length made it hard for his opponents to score down low. He came away with a couple of big blocks. He was also the best rebounder on the court from the night. He finished the night with 10 points.
Anferee Nelson 2020 Jenks Guard
Nelson was the best guard on the Jenks side tonight. He was able to produce on the offensive end while also having to guard either Trey Phipps or Bryce Thompson on the defensive end. He was able to drive to the basket and finish or draw a foul. Nelson also showed a touch from beyond the arc as he was able to knock down a three to stretch the floor even more. Nelson finished with a team high 10 points.
Chase Martin 2022 Jenks Wing
Martin was the best big man for the Jenks on the night. He was able to make a difference down low. He knocked down some tough contested shots inside the paint. Martin was able to knock down some shots from the perimeter as well. He defended well on the other side of the court as he was able force contested shots. He also rebounded the ball well. He finished the game with 9 points.
