Kenosha Tremper – Tremper has sneakily become a top team in the Southeast conference as they boast a 14-6 record late in the year and are fighting for a conference title. This week they finished 2-1, losing to Wilmot. However, wins over Racine Horlick and Westosha Central will ultimately carry more weight than the loss, as the resume-building wins give them some momentum and respect heading into the postseason.
Kaukauna – Despite playing just one game this week, Kaukauna’s win over an elite Oshkosh North team puts them in the running for Team of the Week. The win also marks a turning point in the season. After a rough start, they’ve won four of their last five games and are picking up steam at the right time.
Brookfield Central – Central faced Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Sussex Hamilton for the second time this season. And, for the second time, Central came out on top.
They won by just five points, and can thank David Joplin for the extra burst of offense. The forward dropped an incredible 36 points, hitting six threes and also hauling in 10 rebounds.
Burlington – Burlington has hovered a few games over .500 for the majority of this season, but they took down 15-4 Elkhorn team this week, impressing with the conference upset.
Dane Kornely led the way for them, dropping 22 points while Joey Berezowitz (Burlington’s leading scorer) pitched in 15.
Honorable Mentions:
Cuba City – Cuba City can’t stay off this ballot. But, for exposure’s sake, we gave other programs the nod for the top four.
Their wins deserve plenty of press, though. They took down conference rival Fennimore during the week and yesterday, they stepped outside their conference to beat a talented Milwaukee Washington team. They’re 19-0 on the year and eyeing an undefeated season.
