Adam O’Dell – 6’8 C 2021 – South Bend St. Joesph (IN)
Been impressed with how O’Dell has developed. Early on in his career, there were concerns about his potential size and speed. He’s definitely grown and at the same time has kept up his full court speed. He’s continued to really develop as a low post scorer while still being able to spread himself out on the wing. Not sure of his long term position at the college level but he’s done a good job being productive in the paint and had some luck with his body developing well. At this stage, it wouldn’t shock if there is another jump in his game between now and when the high school season starts up again next year.
Stephen Atkinson – 6’6 PF 2021 – Owen Valley (IN)
One of the more hidden players in the state, Atkinson is a really interesting prospect to watch. He handles the ball a ton but really is more of a post player that will create from the wing. He’s great with his mid-range pull-up and perimeter jumper for his position. Not a good enough ball handler to make him more of a wing or guard but enough that he will be a nightmare to try and defend at the next level. He’s got a frame that is growing and might be just tall enough to really take advantage of mismatches in college if used correctly. I think the improvement in his ball handling has just allowed him to do so much more with his game and that has given him some added confidence.
Joseph Bomba – 6’4 SF 2021 – Bloomington South (IN)
Bomba was a player we saw and liked during AAU this past summer but we were not really sure how good he was. Now, he’s really excelling at Bloomington South and giving them a lights out shooter with size on the perimeter. While that seems to be the most dominant skill at this point, he’s really good there and he has continued to be reliable. He will have a chance during the summer to probably showcase things a little more with an expanded role. He is a guy that will need to add weight here sooner rather than later but should and that could really be the thing that helps to take him to a new level.
Ethan Higgs – 6’4 SG 2021 – Evansville Reitz (IN)
Higgs was a player we were interested in but not sure we had seen the high-end of his game to this point. Then, we got a couple early games in on Reitz and saw another level to him. He can be ultra aggressive and tough with some athleticism. That should be his calling card. Not quite sure the jumper is fully there yet and offense might be built around that effort level he possesses. His ball handling does seem to lend itself well to getting plays completed in traffic and transition. If the jumper really locks on, his stock could take off.
Shamar Avance – 6’1 PG 2021 – Lawrence North (IN)
Shamar has continued to impress every single time I watch him. He’s a taller guard that has just taken complete control of the offense for a really high-end Lawerence North team. He’s done a lot better at making himself shine while still getting others involved. He’s not a guy that we are banking on to be a 20+ point per game scorer but he has shown that he has that in his bag if he needs to. He doesn’t turn the ball over, he rebounds well, he dishes it off as well as you need, and keep such a great pace for an uptempo team. It will almost be more interesting to see him this summer around less talent and if his offense take more of a focus to give college programs a look at the different versions of his game.
