Elijah Jackson Elijah Jackson 6'0" | PG Churchill County | 2020 State NV 6’0 PG Churchill County 2020 (#28PHN 2020) – Big time players show up in big time game. Heard a lot of hate yesterday about a player that has done nothing but led his team to a conference championships and a chance at back to back state titles, all while electrifying the crowd. I’m kinda tired of hearing about what he isn’t. What he is, is a player that has another great stage to show just why he is considered one of the top PG’s in the state. Should be a very competitive game between CC and Elko, usually those games come down to players. Excited to see Jackson in this spot.
Mwani Wilkinson Mwani Wilkinson 6'5" | SF Bishop Gorman | 2020 State #107 Nation NV 6’6 SF Bishop Gorman 2020 (#3PHN 2020) – Bitter sweet day, as this game will be the last time I get to see Wilkinson in a Gorman jersey. The ultra athletic wing has produced a lifetime of highlights this season, and it seems only fitting that it will take one more remarkable performance in order for his team to leave with their 9th straight title. It’s not just his scoring that impacts the game, but his rebounding, defense and rim protection will be important also.
Milos Uzan Milos Uzan 6'4" | PG Dream City Christian | 2022 State #60 Nation AZ 6’3 PG Desert Pines 2022 (#1PHN 2022) – The legend of Milos Uzan Milos Uzan 6'4" | PG Dream City Christian | 2022 State #60 Nation AZ looks to grow even larger in this game. Honestly at times you forget he’s a sophomore. Uzan is a cerebral PG that controls the game with his handle and passing. You already know what he’s getting tonight. Gorman will come at him with their press. He’s going to have to show poise, patients and a bit of dog if DP is going to walk out of the Lawlor Center with the crown.
Dawson Dumas 6’1 SG Elko 2022 – Dumas makes this list because if he puts on the same performance tonight as he did on Thursday, then Elko’s leaving with the chip. Quick release shooter with college range. His ability to space the floor and open up driving lanes for some of Elko’s other players will be a huge key if his team is to have success.
Treven Wachsmuth 6’1 SG Mineral County 2020 – Wanted to make sure I gave the 1A players some love. Mineral County cruised to a semifinal victory behind a 26 to 6 second quarter. Wachsmuth has been the man all year scoring nearly 500 points for his team. He needs one more strong performance if the Serpents are to claim the State title.
Ira Bowman 5’10 PG PVHS 2021 – Bowman will be looking for a repeat of his Semi-Final performance. The junior finished with 25 including 3 threes. In games like this you need your stars to be stars and Bowman has led the Panthers all season. His shooting and ballhandling will be key if they are to secure the crown.
