1. Apex Friendship Patriots (8-2)
Last Rank: 2nd (↑1)
The Patriots have won three-straight games in conference action to find themselves in a tie for first-place after a slow start. They’ve found their groove with forward Nick Farrar leading the way. When they’re firing on all cylinders, they’re a title-contending team, especially with seniors Jayden Beloti and Jeremiah Baker. Apex Friendship has Holly Springs on Friday then South Garner on Tuesday.
2. Garner Magnet Trojans (8-2)
Last Rank: 1st (↓1)
Garner Magnet has won their last three conference matchups but falling to Apex Friendship back on Jan. 17 has come back to haunt them. They’re still in good shape led by unsigned seniors Daveon Dunn, Christopher Nobles and A.J. Daniels. The Trojans will face Apex on Friday then Middle Creek on Tuesday.
3. Middle Creek Mustangs (7-3)
Last Rank: 3rd (↔)
The Middle Mustangs are steady at third in the power rankings after going 2-1 since the last edition. They’ll look to finish with a bang with Fuquay-Varina and Garner Magnet to finish up their schedule. They dropped a big one last Friday against Apex Friendship.
4. Holly Springs Golden Hawks (6-5)
Last Rank: 5th (↑1)
The Golden Hawks find themselves in the Top 4 of the SWAC after going 2-1 and moving their conference record above .500. They’re getting strong play from 2021 forward Dante Kiesenhofer. They’ve got a big game against Apex Friendship coming up on Friday night.
5. Fuquay-Varina Bengals (5-5)
Last Rank: 4th (↓1)
The Fuquay-Varina Bengals got off to a strong start in conference play and were 4-2 in the last edition. Now, they’ve dropped to 5-5 after going 1-3 this past week. They’ll look to get back in the win column on Friday against Middle Creek. Then on Tuesday, they’ll be on the road against Apex.
6. South Garner Titans (1-10)
Last Rank: 6th (↔)
The South Garner Titans are at the same position in the power rankings after going winless this past week. They’ve been knocking on the door in a few games but with injuries and inexperience, they’ve struggled a bit to get that second win in conference play. On Tuesday, they’ll be on the road against Apex Friendship.
7. Apex Cougars (1-9)
Last Rank: 7th (↔)
The Apex Cougars are steady in the SWAC Power Rankings after going 0-3 since that last edition was released. They’ll look to get back in the win column with their next two coming against Garner Magnet and Fuquay-Varina.
