Orange Park, FL
This was our first game of the two in Orange Park tonight. The Fleming Island Eagles (14-7) versus the Middleburg Broncos (11-9). This was a close, back and forth game until late. After the first period, the Eagles had a 12 to 9 edge over the Broncos. Continuing their success into the second period entering halftime with a 24 to 18 lead. Then we would see the Eagles pull away. Out rebounding the Broncos and forcing a ton of steals in the second half would help them seal the victory 57-30.
Cory Wyatt – Shooting Guard – Middleburg
Cory Wyatt was huge for the Broncos early. He kept them in the game by hitting some clutch three-pointers. Still a junior he has some room to grow in other aspects of his game. Next year could be huge for him and he has the potential to be really nice player for the Broncos.
Edgard Enriquez – Guard – Middleburg
This 6’3 senior guard for the Broncos was held in check against the Eagles. He still managed to have a nice game with 10 points and 6 rebounds. He is the key for the Broncos if they want to make a postseason run this year.
Elias Martin – Forward – Fleming Island
Elias was huge on the glass tonight for the Eagles. At 6’5 he was a threat down low and cleaned the glass all night. He finished the with a double-double, 10 points, and 10 rebounds. Not to mention he had 4 blocks
Sebastian Astor – Guard – Fleming Island
The star of the game was this guy right here. This 6ft point guard had a great game with 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Sebastian does a little bit of everything on the court. In this game, he had a couple of threes, drove to the basket, got to the foul line, and still was able to get his teammates involved.
