“And I’m being recruited by Black Hills St., a D-II in South Dakota,” Houck said.
The lengthy scoring guard has an arsenal of talents, including using his frame and ball-skills to finish at the rim consistently, shooting the ball from the dribble and making off-ball cuts to free his teammates.
“I feel like being a lengthy, all-around guard, my passing ability, getting my teammates open looks and easy finishes is my best [skill],” Houck said. “I like to shoot it as well as getting to the rim.
Defensively, Houck said he takes pride on his show-stopping skills.
“I like trying to shut down the other team’s best player,” Houck said.
Houck acknowledged the parts of his game he is working to improve as well.
“[I want to] shoot the ball at a higher percentage, get stronger and faster and tighter ball-handling,” Houck said, “to play at the next level.
Many people may not know that Houck was not born or raised in Oklahoma.
“[I] was born and raised in Wasilla, Alaska,” Houck said. “I won a 4A State Championship my sophomore year in Alaska and moved to Oklahoma going into my junior year.”
The State Champion joined Oklahoma Wolfpack upon arriving in the Sooner state, where he made waves in his senior summer as one of the quickest-rising 2020 prospects in the state.
