“I know schools have been coming to watch me, but I haven’t heard much specifically,” Hargis said.
Standing about 6-foot-1-inches, Hargis is primarily a scoring guard; he caught the eyes of the Prep Hoops Oklahoma staff first when he scored 20 points in a win against Tuttle on Feb. 17.
“I think I really like the way I shoot,” Hargis said of his skill-set, “I’ve been practicing that since I’ve been in the seventh grade, just getting in the gym all the time and shooting.”
Indeed, creating and sinking shots may be Hargis’s best skill, but he is far from a one-trick pony; and he knows that.
“But I know sometimes shooting doesn’t fall,” Hargis said, “so you’ve gotta make it up on defense, handling the ball and getting your teammates open so they can shoot too.”
Hargis also cited a few attributes that he wants to enhance, including his quickness, speed and rebounding skills.
“Just all-around athleticism in general,” Hargis added.
He said that college coaches should know that he is a hard-worker.
“In practice, on the court, in class,” Hargis said. “I’m an honors society student so, I mean I just work hard at everything.”
Hargis listed his favorite color as red and his favorite movie as Ride Along.
“I’m a fun person,” Hargis said, “if you’re around me for a little while, you’ll know.”
