The 6’0′ Alexader is a slashing guard who excels at getting into the lane and creating offense, but he is also a physically strong guard who can also post up and score in the paint against guards who are like-size or smaller. His ability to score inside gives the Fighting Irish more flexibility on the offensive end.
“I like getting to the bucket and being physical in the paint for my size,” he said.. “My mid-range jumper has also improved and I’m getting more active with rebounds, even though I’m a guard.”
Alexander’s solid play at the point guard has earned him interest in programs such as Benedictine, Fort Scott Community College, Arkansas CC and Mount St. Mary’s.
As we head into the home stretch of the season, Alexander is hoping to help keep a special tradition going at Lafayette, which its recent run of district championships. The Fighting Irish have won four consecutive district championships are in the hunt for a fifth title.
“It would mean a lot of me just knowing me and my team kept that streak going,” he said. “As an individual, it would be my fourth one and it would mean a lot to know me and all of the teams I played with brought back a title to the school. It’s really a good feeling and I’m ready for the challenge this year.”
