Karstetter’s high school career came to close in a playoff loss to Wenatchee. Karstetter once again displayed his athleticism on a break-away, windmill dunk. His explosiveness will have the Bengal fans cheering next season. The rangy guard had a bit of an off-shooting night. He did manage to make four field goals and finished with nine points. Perhaps as impressive as his dunk was his range from deep. He swished a contested, 25 foot, three-pointer and looked very comfortable handling the ball and passing out of double teams.
Garrett Long | 6-2 Combo Guard – Class of 2021 | Wenatchee
The last time these two teams met, Long exploded for 44 points. In this playoff match-up, Long was again on fire. He finished with 26 points and shot a blistering 10-14 from the field including 3-4 from behind the stripe. He is taller and stronger than last season and is better at coming off the variety of on-ball screens his Panther teammates set for him. He plays well within the system and while capable of getting into the lane and getting a shot off while defended, he showed great vision, unselfishness, and enough basketball IQ to make the right pass. This summer will be huge and should propel Long’s stock even further. A strong summer showing and it’s likely for Long to receive multiple mid-major offers and possibly above.
Camden Loidhamer | 6-3 Wing – Class of 2022 | Wenatchee
Camden, not to be confused with Chase Loidhamer (class of 2020) the 6-6 Central Washington football commit, has enough basketball skill to be mentioned. He too may end up playing college football, but the tight-end can play a little hoop too. He poured in 17 points and most of them came from rolling to the hoop on pick and rolls and grabbing offensive rebounds in a crowd. He is a really good high school basketball player. Whether or not that means he will play basketball at the next level is probably more dependent on his high school football career.
Marshall Tibbs | 6-4 Wing- Class of 2022 | Moses Lake
Tibbs began the second half by splashing in two quick threes but failed to get another attempt. He finished with 10 points but did more than float on the outside. The long sophomore showed he was not scared of contact. Wenatchee plays physical and the slender Tibbs was unfazed. With two full seasons ahead, it is easy to see how Tibbs could develop into a big, aggressive guard. With increased ball-handling skills to complement his rebounding, shooting and defense, Tibbs could grow into a serious prospect and is somebody to keep track of.
Cayden Hart | 5-10 Guard -Class of 2022 | Moses Lake
Hart showed off his shooting ability en route to 14 points by going 4 of 5 from behind the three-point line. He did that damage in just three quarters as he did not get a shot off in the fourth quarter. His Moses Lake teammates did put up 10 threes in the fourth quarter and connected on just one. The nimble Hart is quick to let it fly and does not need much time to get it off. With Karstetter moving on, there should be more opportunities for Hart next season. I’ll be watching to see if he can add strength and an ability to create shots for himself.
